Synopsis
Second Son takes place in 2016, seven years after the events in New Marais, and the death of hero Conduit Cole MacGrath. Using the Ray Field Inhibitor from the second game, Cole had sacrificed himself and the lives of hundreds of other Conduits worldwidein order to stop the Beast and cure humanity of a mysterious plague. However, many other Conduits who were immune to the RFI wave survived, whether they knew it or not. To protect the U.S. population from any remaining Conduits, now dubbed "Bio-Terrorists" to instill fear in the people, the government sends in the Department of Unified Protection (D.U.P.) to hunt down and capture the Conduits by any means necessary.

The protagonist is Delsin Rowe (voiced by Troy Baker), a graffiti artist and the local delinquent of the Akomish reservation. Delsin's had the unique Conduit ability of Power Absorption, allowing him to use other Conduits' powers. His brother, Reggie (Travis Willingham), is the local sheriff, and often arrests Delsin for his acts of vandalism. Both are Akomish Native Americans, whose territory lies at the shore of Salmon Bay, Washington. The antagonist is Brooke Augustine (Christine Dunford), the director of the D.U.P. and a Conduit with power over Concrete. Her actions in the Akomish reservation drive Delsin to travel to Seattle, now under lock-down by D.U.P. forces. Delsin and Reggie encounter three other Conduits: Henry "Hank" Daughtry (David Stanbra), a convict with control over Smoke; Abigail "Fetch" Walker (Laura Bailey), an ex-junkie who uses her Neon powers to hunt down the illegal drug dealers in Seattle; and Eugene Sims (Alex Walsh), a reclusive video gamer who uses his Video (digital materialization) powers to save suspected Conduits from the D.U.P.

Gameplay
In this game players control Delsin rowe from a third person perspective and free roam over the city just as you do in other inFAMOUS games. Parkour can be used to climb vertical surfaces like high rise buildings. Delsin is a "conduit" which allows him to use super human powers by manipulating materials such as smoke and neon. These materialized can and are weaponized by Delsin and other "conduits." There are also melee attacks or long range attacks fired from Delsin's fingertips. There is also a HUD in this game (heads up display) and "conduits" must use power supplies such as as smoke from broken down cars and batteries and what not. Each time you learn a new ability or power, Delsin destroys DUP command center vehicles, to practice his new found powers! Lastly, you can upgrade your powers with Blast Shards that are scattered throughout Seattle.

Plot
After Reggie catches Delsin tagging again, their subsequent argument is interrupted when a military truck carrying "conduits" crashes on the Akomish reservation, two of them escape, and Delsins pulls the third out of the wreckage and inadvertently absorbs his smoke powers. Shocked, Delsin pursues him to try and figure out what has happened and how to control his new found powers. However, they are both concerned by Brooke Augustine when she encases Hank in concrete and questions Delsin, assuming that he is hiding and then you can either tell her the truth or lie to her, either choice leading to her knocking you unconscious before moving on to the other tribe members.

Story
The story within this game is quite different from the other games, but, also the same if that makes sense. In most of the other games the player knew up front that they had powers and had only a select few. In this game the player ends up finding out that he has powers, and being able to absorb other conduit's powers as well, basically giving you an unlimited powers list. Also. usually the player is a good guy, not causing any un needed trouble, but in this one you are a teenager who tags and steals pretty frequently. The story line within this game is quite fun like the other games, but I feel as if this game is the best of the three games.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are amazing to say the least. Seeing as Sucker Punch is centered in Seattle they felt that they could do it some justice. And, lets just say that they accomplished that. They used real to life pictures and sounds gathered from Seattle as well as including some famous landmarks such as the Space Needle and the Pioneer Square to name a few. The company also licensed logos and signs from within Seattle to use within the game to give it the true to life feel of Seattle. Also, like Seattle their is a lot of rain, which they included within game and the neon powers Delsin has are used somewhat to light up the city.

Controls
The controls for this game are like the other games, except enhanced. I don't know if they actually changed any buttons or anything, but I feel as if they kept things the same, but at the same time the controls for this game feel easier to use as compared to other games. So, needless to say, the controls within this game are very easy to use and should be easily learned by newbies or veterans to the series. Very solid controls within this game, with no awkward button reaches or un used buttons, nothing like that within this game.

Personal Note:This game is not only fun, but it speaks to me as a designer. The game is beautiful to say the least, and the graphic team put a lot of effort in this game to make their home base if you will of Seattle look amazing, like how they see it. The amount of work put into this game is intense and well worth a try for previous series players or people that are just starting the series with this one. You won't regret giving this game a chance.
