Info
Title: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Genre: Action
Developer: Beenox
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: 29 Apr 2014

Synopsis
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes place outside the events of the 2nd film in a unique story where Spider-Man discovers a larger threat to NYC that has turned the underworld upside down. Villains from the film and classic Marvel characters come together in a twisted web of adrenaline-fueled, web-slinging action.

Story
As always with video games that follow films, the stories are never the same. This has always put me of games like this, as i always find they take it a bit to far with the scenes that take place. But in this new game i feel they didn't take it as far as the last one, which makes it a lot more enjoyable. Taking on bosses is now harder to accomplish than before meaning that to complete the mission you need some skill to do so. This has also been another problem for me, the difficulty that the previous games have had were just to easy, almost to the point where they got boring, but number 2 has really fixed that problem. The story does some what follow the film, but in patched, 1 scene it could be following it, then move onto something completely made up, but with it interchanging like that at least you know how far you have progressed through the game. The new additions into this game are also very nice to use, and for the first time in any Spider-Man game you actually get to play as the character Peter Parker, which is a nice touch. The length of the story is nice, not too long but not too short. It took me about 4-5 days to complete it.

Graphics
The graphics in The Amazing Spider-man 2 are not that bad at all, considering the type of game it is i was expecting the usual Disney game graphics, but they did impress me. The game is relatively easy to run on PC so playing on maximum detail is a pleasure, the textures are very nice with brilliant resolution scaling. All the character models look realistic, apart from the odd couple where you have no idea what the hell it is. Shadows are really nice, with dark black tones with smooth transitions. What more could you ask for. But don't get me wrong, this isn't up there on the graphics scale of Crysis or Battlefield, but it is more than acceptable for a game like this.

Controls
The controls are as always very easy to master and/or customize, as like in all other games like this, they have to have that user-friendly(ness) about them due to the kind of audience they are aimed at. This is a great thing in my opinion, every control is where you'd expect it with no hard to remember combinations. In slo-motion cut-scenes where it requires you to hit buttons, it gives you plenty of time to hit that button, if you miss it, just start again. It could not be more simple than that. This can be played on either a gamepad (Xbox 360 controller) or a mouse and keyboard. Both are easy to play on which is a huge + in my book. They can be customized to your liking if need be, but i cannot see this being a problem due to the default layout being so good and easy to use.
