Synopsis
SSX is a snowboarding video game in the SSX series of video games from Electronic Arts. First revealed at the Spike Video Game Awards in 2010 under the working title SSX: Deadly Descents, the game's trailer appeared to show a much darker direction to the series than previous entries, though later footage revealed a return to a lighter tone. SSX includes the use of real locations, rather than the fictional courses of past games

Gameplay
The gameplay is fantastic, the arcade type snowboarding gameplay that we all know and love is very much present in this game. There are 9 of the deadliest descents in the world to manoeuvre through each one posing significant and unique hazards and styles. The best way to rack up points and enter modes which allow you to travel faster and produce better tricks is to perform tricks using the analogue stick to fill up the meter to enter tricky mode and super tricky mode which are excellent fun to play in as the tricks you can pull off are awesome. You can rewind the game if you make a mistake which is another good feature especially if you are not to experienced. On every descent there is a hazard course which basically means there is something that makes it dangerous and unique like darkness and low oxygen, the player has to try and combat this which makes for very fun gameplay. There is also a free roam type mode where you allowed to explore and participate in things like races amongst other things this is a welcome change and is very fun.

Multiplayer
SSX contains a new system called RiderNet, this is a system whereby you can track your friends progress in comparison to your own, this is a cool feature and is superior to the tradition leaderboards offered by most games. The best thing to do on the multiplayer is to challenge your friends to trick games and races, you can race down a massive slope with loads of other people whilst trying to perform tricks, it's awesome! One thing I would've like to have seen would have been a free mode with friends that would let you explore together and enter into competitions with other players. Overall the multiplayer is very fun.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are awesome each of the 9 main locations is varied and look great. The colours are amazing and the environments look really nice. The whites are pristine and life-like and they really make it feel as if you are there. The textures are very good and there is no problems with any rendering. The snowboards and track marks of where you have been in the snow look really good and make the game super to play as you get immersed in the gameplay because the graphics are good. It would have been nice to have seen a little more effort on the player models but other than that they are really good. Screenshots are below.

CONTROLS
The controls to this game are good, it can take a little time to get used to using the analogue sticks separately to move and perform tricks but once you get the hang of it you're golden! There are some settings if you like to change them and even old school SSX controls for the veteran players out there. They feel smooth and you have the freedom to move in pretty much any direction you want. The button layout is superb and you can tell they have put a lot of thought into it as certain buttons are assigned to commands that need to be used together.
