Synopsis
Killzone 2 is a first-person shooter for the PlayStation 3, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the third installment in the Killzone series that began on the PlayStation 2 with Killzone and continued on the PlayStation Portable with Killzone: Liberation. The game was first announced at E3 2005, with a tech demo on display, while the first gameplay footage was shown two years later at E3 2007. Killzone 2 was released worldwide late February 2009, and was followed by Killzone 3 in February 2011.

Gameplay
This game contains a large number of different weapons and landscapes to use them on similar to its predecessor this is really good in terms of gameplay and where it improves upon its predecessor it the new cover system, this gives the player the ability to duck in and out of cover whilst shooting at enemies, this can be invaluable and is a great addition to the game. The gameplay is fast paced, action packed and smooth everything you could want from a great fps and it doesn't fail to deliver.

Story
The story picks up after the events of its predecessor and features the same war over the power hungry corporations fighting in space. You play as Tomas "Sev" Sevchenko, a soldier whose mission is to eliminate the helghast threat. The story aspect to this game is excellent, it is focused and well balanced and the cutscenes help bring it all together. You genuinely begin to care about your character and empathize with the situations he and others around him are in. The story has just enough detail to get you hooked without keeping you bogged down with unnecessary information. The ending to this story is also very good and leaves you 100% anticipating the following game Killzone 3.

Multiplayer
There are 7 classes that can be used in multiplayer over a variety of game modes each with its own positives and negatives in any given situation. You are given the chance to play for either of the two warring factions that are present in the campaign mode . There are 15 weapons available online and enough unlocks/xp progression to keep you playing for a decent length of time. The map selection is fantastic and there is also the ability to download DLC should you wish to have even more options online. The maps are well balanced and feel very good to play on. There is a good number of game modes to play on so this ensures that you don't get bored for a long time. Killzone 2 online is best enjoyed with a party of friends. It's awesome fun.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are just crazy, the landscapes look extremely vivid and the levels of detail look amazing to be frank. There is no texture issues and the frame rate is absolutely fine. The contrast of colour used is very good also and the shadows look incredible. Can't really say anymore for this just look at the screenshots.

CONTROLS
The controls are perfect as well, you can easily do what you want your character to do efficiently. There are button layout pre-sets if you don't like the default so you're sorted here. They use the left trigger to aim and the right trigger to shoot similar to other fps games. The movements from the sticks are really smooth and you can play the game easily when you use the controller. Anyone who has played FPS games before will be right at home.
