Synopsis
Singularity is a video game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision and released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Singularity is Raven Software's third title based on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3. The title was announced at Activision's E3 2008 press conference.

Gameplay
Singularity has the typical feeling of an FPS shooter with the exception that you can manipulate time, this adds another dimension of gameplay to the game and makes it awesome to play. There is a nice variety of weapons and when coupled with the time manipulation it leads to multiple ways to help defeat the enemies. The gunplay is really good on this game and whilst it has the time manipulation aspect it still feels like it would benefit from something else to make it more of a stand out gameplay wise.

Story
The story revolves around a military espionage involving the Russian government (who else?) and an abandoned military base you are sent to investigate. You play as Nate Renko a Air pilot and find yourself caught up in a massive cold war cover up. The story to this game is actually surprisingly decent. The cutscenes help give focus and direction to the story and I actually found myself wanting to play so I could find out what happened. Whilst it could do with some other sub plots to keep it interesting it is good nonetheless.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer has only two game modes (extermination and creatures vs soldiers)and basically consists of you fighting off creatures of one kind or another and then fighting soldiers as the same creatures, the maps are decent and there is enough variety but they don't seem to suit multiplayer as much as they do the campaign play, they don't feel too balanced and they become very repetitive after a while. The weapons are okay as well but again after playing the same modes over and over just varying the weapons doesn't really do anything and you get bored easily. They need to add more gamemodes to make it less repetitive. It honestly feels like they have just added this on without much thought or effort put into it. It doesn't add anything to the game.

Graphics
The graphics are fairly decent, the colour scheme (they often use a good contrast of colour which works well)and weapon detail is good but the textures sometimes have issues and don't look as good as they should for a game that came out when this one did. The character face models could do with some improvement as they are not as detailed as I would've hoped for. The environment and backdrop to the gameplay can sometimes seem a bit dull and without detail but it's not too bad. The lighting and shadows look very good on this game though to be honest.
