Synopsis
Resistance 3 is a 2011 science fiction post-apocalyptic first-person shooter developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. Resistance 3 is the third and final installment in the Resistance trilogy. Resistance 3 is the first in the series to support 3D and PlayStation Move and the first to introduce the PSN Pass program. The game shifts away from the military aspect of its predecessors and takes on a post-apocalyptic feel.

Gameplay
The gameplay stays true to its roots but expands on a few different areas. There is a great balance of new and old weapons that are extremely fun to play with. The new environments and new engine make the game more realistic than ever and much more fun to play with. The inclusion of playstation move into the game is a good feature for those who have it to use it to fulfil its potential and add another level the already versatile gameplay. The map locations are good and varied so the gameplay doesn't really get stale. There are a number of different and interesting tasks to do on each mission so you won't get bored easily. The gunplay which makes up a large percentage of the gameplay is also very good, the AI are smart and the different types of enemy always makes for a good fight, couple this with the vast array of weapons at your disposal and you have yourself a great shooter that it really satisfying to play.

Story

The story no longer takes place in the shoes of Nathan Hale. Set in an alternate reality this game takes place in the 1950's, following on from the events of its predecessor the United States has fallen to the Chimera virus. You play as Joseph Capelli who is the last surviving member of an elite group of soldiers called the Sentinels. Capelli is responsible for fighting off the Chimera virus while fighting for his life. The story is again very good this seems to be a trait of this series, the character progression in this game especially is outstanding you can empathize with the characters. The mission design and levels are superb and you can really feel the emotion at certain points in the game. The gameplay is great but the story is even better!

Multiplayer
There is the same multiplayer as before but with a few decent improvements, they have included a better rank progression system whereby you can spend points to buy attributes to get in play bonuses. There is five game modes each with different objectives. The maps and weapons are very well balanced and make it really fun to play. There is much to unlock so there is a big re-playability value with this game!

Graphics
The graphics are back on point in this game, the textures and level design are all superb the character models are solid and really help this game excel. The weapons and maps look super detailed and you can see all the little imperfections on them. The chimera are even more detailed than before and you can really see the effort that has been put in to them. They have done great work with the lighting and shadows and the colours to help set the tone in this game. The cutscenes are fantastic and this game is really solid overall graphically speaking.

CONTROLS
Controls are perfect, no issues once again, it feels very smooth and easy to control. The button layout is typical of other FPS's and this games predecessors which makes it really easy to aim and control your character. There is a couple of tweaks you can make in the menus to change the controls if you like but they seem very good to me so I din't bother. The button layout is solid and you can select the actions you want to do and perform them with no difficulty at all. If you have played any of the previous ones or any other FPS you will be absolutely fine and with adjust almost instantly. They make the controls really good and make awesome use of the playstation six-axis controller.
