Synopsis
Prison Break: The Conspiracy is an action-adventure video game based on the first season of the Fox television series Prison Break, released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
It was released on March 19, 2010 in Germany, March 26, 2010 in the United Kingdom and Europe, and March 30, 2010 in North America. The game had been in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for release in February 2009, but was canceled when Brash Entertainment closed down. However, ZootFly continued the development and self-funded the project for 13 months. Once the game was polished and nearly finished, it was picked up by new publisher Deep Silver.
Prison Break: The Conspiracy is based around the events of the first season of Fox's convict drama. However, rather than playing as main character Michael Scofield, players instead take control of Tom Paxton, an agent with covert organization 'The Company', who must go undercover as a prisoner within Fox River State Penitentiary in order to ensure that the falsely incarcerated Lincoln Burrows must ride the lighting in the electric chair. The game is split into 9 chapters, all of which represent a part of the real story that the TV series followed.

Gameplay
The game is made of 9 different parts and each part follows the storyline of the television show. The different parts consists on mundane mini games , poor gameplay and terribly boring tasks to complete. The game is extremely linear and consists of just one path for everything to happen on, this can work for some games but it certainly doesn't work for this. I'm a big fan of the show and I just found this game tedious and boring. And to top it all off you don't even get to play as your favourite characters, but rather a boring guy who doesn't even feature in the tv show. I only completed it for the gamerscore.

Story
For those familiar with the TV show the main story to the game is seen from the polar opposite of Schofield in the TV show. You play a company agent who is trying to make sure Lincoln gets the death penalty for his "crime". The story does very little to intrigue you and you are left pondering about how good the tv show was in comparison to this game which is quite frankly poor. The fact that you don't even play as the main protagonist in the tv show doesn't help either as this is supposed to be one of the best things about a video game spin-off.

Graphics
The graphics are really not very good either. The characters somewhat resemble their television counterparts but that's where it ends unfortunately. The characters have very little detail and that's the same with the surrounding environment. They seem to have put very little effort into the background items in the game building just look like untextured blocks and when outside the sky is practically just one solid colour. The graphics are quite poor to be honest and it doesn't help you get into the mood of playing as things look like they were taken from a ps2 game, it's a shame. Poor animation and bad lip syncing are also present and the textures are really poor.

CONTROLS
The controls are extremely clunky (you will find it difficult on several occasions to move your character in the way you want to do)and you often find yourself getting frustrated by how sluggish the response is. It feels as if they haven't actually tested the game and made improvements based on how it felt. The controller layout is actually not too bad but they could make it better by placing the most used actions assigned to buttons closer together for more fluid gameplay. They do nothing to help the game.
