Synopsis
'Splosion Man is a 2.5D action platform video game developed by Twisted Pixel Games for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade digital download service. It was released on July 22, 2009 as part of the 2009 Xbox Live Summer of Arcade. Players control 'Splosion Man, an escaped science experiment with the ability to explode himself repeatedly, as he works his way through obstacles and traps trying to exit the fictional laboratory known as Big Science.

Gameplay
You control a man made entirely out of explosive material, your aim is to explode (exploding is essentially like jumping) through a series of puzzles. You will need to eliminate scientists and other enemies as you progress through. The game is really fun to play and can also be challenging but it has a really good balance of the two. The different levels to progress through each have their own challenges so the gameplay never gets boring, there is a total of 3 bosses throughout the 50 levels to complete the game.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer is another great feature to this game as it contains 50 exclusive levels which can be played with up to 4 different players. It's really good that the levels are different as it is a breath of fresh air after completing the single player. The multiplayer is even better than the single player as it is very fun to play with friends. The co-operative nature of the exclusive levels means that you will need to work together lots to get passed certain bits in the game, this means that stable communication will be required as you are often needed to do actions simultaneously and in sync but there is a countdown clock to make it a little easier. The puzzles are even better than in the single player as you will have everyone trying to figure them out at the same time which is really good. The only problem with the co-op was there was sometimes a little bit of lag but it wasn't too much and can easily be ignored when you're having so much fun.

Graphics
The graphics are cartoon like and very basic although this is an arcade game so this should be factored in. Despite that the game looks very sharp and has a good sense of appeal aesthetically speaking. The colour scheme is very bright and works fantastic with the feel of the game. The background is very detailed makes the atmosphere seem really nice. The textures are decent and the graphics on this game are very unique. There is nice colour contrast here that is easy on the eyes.

CONTROLS
The controls on this game are very easy to use and work very well for the level design, I can't think of any way they could improve them as there are perfect. The movements are fluid and really responsive so you will get to grips with them almost instantly upon picking up your controller. There are a few different settings you can change in the menu to your preferences but they feel just fine as the default. The button layout is really nice and you can easily control your splosions and movement direction.
