Synopsis
Mass Effect is an action role-playing game, developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360 and ported to Microsoft Windows by Demiurge Studios. The Xbox 360 version was released worldwide in November 2007, published by Microsoft Game Studios. The Microsoft Windows version was released on May 28, 2008, published by Electronic Arts. A PlayStation 3 version was released through the Mass Effect Trilogy and digitally as a standalone title on PlayStation Network in December 2012

Gameplay
The game is a third person role playing game. The game has 6 different classes (Soldier, Engineer, Adept, Infiltrator, Sentinel, and Vanguard. Each with its own perks/benefits) with fully customizable characters so the options are virtually limitless. The game places particular emphasis on conversation and dialogue during the game so you will have a conversation with a NPC and then you will have a number of options to select a response, you are very much in control of how the story progresses in regards to your responses to different conversations. You are in control of the morality of your character and this lets you really empathize with your character and immerse you in the game. There is a variety of weapons and combat techniques including squads you can command. This gives you a really good number of options to deal with any given situations. You can travel to numerous locations throughout space so you never get bored of playing in the same setting, there is honestly so much to the gameplay it's difficult to do it justice.

Story
I will start by saying that the story in this game is simply incredible. In 2148 a group of explorers on Mars found technology that was from a former race, that was thought to be long extinct this lead to greater exploration of the universe and much more of an advancement in technology. This was called the Mass Effect and is the premise of this game. The story is very very detailed and all I can say is if you haven't played it then go and do it right away. The story takes place across many locations and never fails to surprise you. Because of the focus on dialogue in this game it really makes you feel as though the decisions you are making are very important, you become heavily involved with the characters on an emotional level. The story on this game is remarkable.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are very good considering the scale of the game. There are the usual texture and frame rate issues but this is to be expected considering how massive and detailed this game is. The landscapes are really nice visually speaking and always leave you with a sense of just how big some of the settings on this game really are.

CONTROLS
The controls for this game are very good all things considered. It can occasionally feel a little bit clunky but upping the sensitivity can help this out a fair bit. I feel like the controls on this game are very similar to other games like this such as the fallout series so if you have played them you can probably get a good feel of it. But it's absolutely fine for the most part, I have only played it on the xbox 360 but I imagine it's great on the PC too as there is even more customization to be had as on the console there is a few different presets but on PC you can create your own control scheme.
