Game Information
Release Date: November 18, 2004
Developers: WildTanget
Publishers: WildTanget
Platforms: Microsoft Windows
Genre: Action
Players: 1

Synopsis
You're a pilot for the 365 Assault Helicopter Co. Your job is to fly your bird with turbine power, 10 grunts, and a ton of grit. As the last pilot on this mission after a brutal night of heavy attack, you'll need to fuel up and make a quick stop at the arming pits for some linked 7.62 for the M-60's. Colonel Jackson, a former West Point Officer, has hand-picked you to be his ace gunner along with a top-level flight crew. He clinches your shoulder and passes along a mission log from a well-known pilot, Jim Ironhawk Jones. Good luck, says Colonel Jackson, make us proud.

Gameplay
The soul purpose of the game is to just shoot and destroy anything that comes in contact with the player. Players will engage various tanks, laser systems, helicopters, jets, cargo planes, boats, ships, and even alien type vehicles. The game only features 4 different missions to choose from which the next mission is unlocked by completing thee mission before it. Players will get to choose between 3 different helicopters to use against the enemy, which each have their own stats. When killing an enemy, sometimes they will drop an upgrade that will either give the player an extra gun to fire or a motor which increases the player's speed. Other upgrades can be the ability to fire missiles from their helicopter or gain extra bombs to use on ground enemies. There sometimes are bonuses too that come from enemies that had been destroyed. Each level will have different upgrades than the missions previous to it to give players a variety of upgrades. As players progress through the level, the enemies will get stronger and will have different weapons to fire that will increase the difficulty for players. Players will only have 3 lives but gain a bonus life after reach a certain amount of points consecutively.

Graphics
The graphics aren't too spectacular since it is quite an old game but if players are a fan of helicopter games, then they should probably enjoy this game. The helicopters the player will choose show little resemblance to what the aircraft is suppose to represent in real life. The buildings and structures in the game are of low quality since you can't identify what the building actually is suppose to be. All the various types of enemies are very similar other than some will have a different color and the ammunition fired from the enemy will be a different color also, not too much variety there. The water seems to flow smoothly but lacks the sound effects since the guns, explosions, and terrible soundtrack fades out the sound. The explosions aren't to what players would consider to be the best quality since the explosion is more a shockwave than explosion really. The bushes and trees repeat themselves several times during the playthrough of a mission which lacks variety in both shape and size. Overall. if players are too into the action then the graphics are the least of their worries playing the game.

Controls
The controls for Blackhawk Striker are really simple but will require players to use both hands to play since the player can only one shift key works, which is the one on the far left side away from the arrow keys which maneuver the helicopter. Player necessarily don't have to use both hands to operate the game if their computer has the functions for the controls set-up differently or if they just choose not to use bombs at all which really don't too much damage to the enemies but does somewhat help when getting closed in by the enemy. The game doesn't feature a different button layout option to change the controls for the game to suit the players comfortably.

Rating

Graphics: 7.3/10
