Synopsis
Mario Strikers Charged, known in Europe and Australia as Mario Strikers Charged Football,[6] is a sports video game developed by Canadian developer Next Level Games and published by Nintendo for the Wii. This game was announced at the 2006 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany as the sequel to Super Mario Strikers for the Nintendo GameCube. It was released on May 25, 2007 in Europe, June 7, 2007 in Australia and July 30, 2007 in North America.
The game supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, through which players can participate in online matches and tournaments. Upon its European release, it became the first Wii online game to be available outside of Japan. It was also the first Mario game released on the Wii and the first Mario game to be given a rating higher than E by the ESRB.

Gameplay
The gameplay of Mario Strikers Charged is very similar to the original game. This one specifically is like american soccer with a feel of american football to it. The players are literally physically fighting for the possession of the ball. The makers of this game have brought back the Super Shot but called it a Mega Shot. If your not to hot on what that is, it is the strongest shot in the game that only the captain can preform. They have also added another shot for your sidekicks and thats called the skill shot. The skill shot is able to paralyze Kritter, he will be standing there for a couple of seconds so you need to either score fast or defend as much as possible. The item weapons are still in this game cause whats a Mario game without any items? These items can go to your advantage and just easily help you score more. One thing that they added in this game with items is a super ability, the captains can only have this but its like a super power. That ability can make you faster, literally punch people to get the ball etc. its crazy. There is a domination mode and a striker challenges mode. In the challenge mode it is pretty much a tournament that you have to win. In domination you get to face whatever team you choose to play, you can play your brother in it too. I thought the gameplay of this was really fun and I just had a blast with it.

Graphics
The graphics of this Mario Strikers has improved since the original one. The characters look like they have been given a darker color to each of them since the previous games. The ball has a nice glow to it which makes it easily for the player to see. When the ball is getting passed around the light will follow it until its in control again. When your about to do a Mega kick it will have a huge blue light pop up and then you will see your guy just barely kick it. I really didnt like how I couldnt see my player kick it the much when I did that. Each map looks different and most of them are. One map looks like it would be a nice stadium, but you are like in the sewers. The map has cracks in it with a little grass or mold texture to it. You can tell that they spent a lot of time into making this game with all the special effects, textures, and more. I think that they went really well and that it is fantastic. If the game didnt have these graphics it probably wouldnt be as good as it is. The graphics made up for a bunch of things as well.

Controls
The controls have changed considering that the last game was on the game cube and this one is on the Wii. Now the Game cube has the same buttons on it like A, B, and the joysticks in just a different form of controller. On the Wii remote it as all of the the same controls like tackle slide, chipping the ball, and shooting. They have still not changed any of the controls really like B is still to shoot and hold charge, A is still to pass, and pressing sorts of buttons to do certain things. As the last game did this one as well has different controls on offense and defense. Im pretty sure you know the offense but the defense controls are like DPAD to slide tackle, A to switch characters, and C to use your items. Most controls of this game are just a single touch of a button and your set to go which is a great thing. As I have said before if any of these controls were to be changed it could make it a slight better game but also a slight worse game.

Rating
