Synopsis
Mario Super Sluggers, known in Japan as Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball ( Sp Mario Sutajiamu Famir Bsubru?), is a sports video game for the Wii developed by Namco Bandai Games and NOW Production, and published by Nintendo. It was previously known by the working title Super Mario Stadium Baseball. It is part of the Mario sports series, and the sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball for the Nintendo GameCube. Mario Super Sluggers was released in Japan on June 19, 2008 and in North America on August 25, 2008. It was unreleased in Europe and Australia, due to being in production at the same time as Mario Kart Wii that was released two months earlier, resulting in a limited release of this game. The game was later re-released in North America for $19.99 as part of the Nintendo Selects range.

Gameplay
Super Mario Sluggers seems as it would be boring because it is baseball. Well in this game it is possibly one of the most addicting games ever to be made. There is six game modes in this game; Exhibition, Challenge, Minigames, Toy Field, Practice, and Records. In Exhibition the player can choose a captain and choose eight additional characters in the game to be on his team. This is possibly what made the game all kinds of fun. In challenge mode the player is playing as Mario of course and he/she must go and recruit all of the Mario characters. It takes place when Bowser Jr. is trying to take over ball parks. While playing this you can unlock characters and stadiums to play as and play on. There are not to much mini games in this game which I didnt like. There is only 9 and there pretty fun. Some of the mini games to play them have to be unlocked in order to play. Some of these mini games are like hit as many home runs as you can, or hit a target with a ball. Toy Field is like a mini game but it is a much larger version. The player has to hit balls any where, and if the ball hits the ground they get points. But if a player catches a ball they lose there turn to bat and the person that caught it gets up to bat. Practice is pretty self explanatory, you practice things on the game. Records is like a hall of fame kind of thing. It shows stats of things like players, homeruns, etc. I would say you should try the story in the game and then play exhibition. Exhibition will make the fun in the game and the story is quite fun. You get to battle people like wario to find out where Bowser Jr. is. Then once you find Bowser Jr. you have to beat him in a baseball game and you win the game.

Graphics
The graphics of this game were no problem to the player what so ever. It plays in a third person perspective. When your up to bat it will show your character to the left or right of the screen holding a bat. You have a little indicator or circle in the middle of your screen and that determines where you wanna hit the ball. When you hit it your guy has a perfect animation of him swinging the bat and hitting the ball dead on. If you hit the ball in a perfect spot it will stop and show the ball and the bat colliding and it makes a loud noise and you can see the ball flying away. The characters are perfectly rounded out with smooth edges and looking as they would any other game would. The fields are all different like one has a train go through it and another will have like things on the ground to help you get a homerun. When your character is running he looks like he is running sort of slow but that can also be changed. The field has a nice texture to it giving it a nice feel to everything. I might have forgot to mention weapons, well when your batting you can use weapons here and there and there animation or effects when they go out look fantastic. The grass looks like it has been mowed right before the game and it looks really good. I had no problem with graphics in the game what so ever. I thought they were like any other Mario game.

Controls
I really thought the controls were perfect for this game. It was only for the Wii so I could imagine you know what the controls are. Well here some of them are; Swinging the Wii remote will cause your character to swing the bat, when your getting ready to swing the nunchuck will make your guy move backwards or forwards. There basic controls like that. A lot of buttons have multiple controls like the A button is to do your star pitch and do your star swing. Or B is to use your error weapon or attack somebody. But you might need to press buttons at the same time like A and Control stick can make your guy to a dive catch or a special move to use. If you dont remember the controls you can click start, options, then controls and it should tell you from there. You can also play multiple with multiple controls like wither using a nunchuck or holding the Wii remote sideways and play like that. Another thing is that the game when you play batting, running, fielding all have its own personal controls to help you win. I found nothing wrong with the controls, I found them quite easy to use and made the game fun.
