Synopsis
When Mario, Peach, and an entourage of Peach's loyal Toad friends set out for a tropical vacation on lovely Isle Delfino, they're in store for much more than a relaxing holiday. A mustachioed maniac has mucked up the entire island, and Mario is accused of committing the crime. Armed with a hi-tech water cannon called FLUDD (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device), Mario sets out to clean the island, clear his name, and solve the mystery of the villainous vandal. With new enemies, moves, and surprises, Super Mario Sunshine offers plenty of challenges.

Plot
As Mario, Princess Peach and a few toads are arriving at the Delfino Airstrip, they come across this multi-colored graffiti that resembled Mario in the middle of the airstrip so the plane had performed a terrible landing. As Peach glanced around the area, she stumbled upon a shadowy figure that look just like Mario. As Peach is about to tell Mario, the shadowy figure disappeared and left Peach in a weird trance as she thought it was a hallucination. Mario progresses through and picks up a water dispense system taht he can use to get rid of the graffiti. After getting rid of the graffiti, Mario is apprehended by the Delfino police and take him into custody for causing havoc at the Delfino Airstrip. Because of the graffiti or goop is all over Delfino Plaza, all the Shine Sprites had vanished and the judge sends Mario out to go and get rid of all the goop and find the Shine Sprites and bring them back to Delfino Plaza.

Gameplay
Similar to what Super Mario Land 64, players will go on a quest to collect rather than stars, but Shine Sprites by playing through various levels and completing unique objectives each level possesses. Players will fight against multiple types of bosses each level provides. Players will get to use F.L.U.D.D which provides as a spray cannon for the player to use. By progressing through the game, the player will obtain upgrades that will change the special ability of the F.L.U.D.D. But the player can only possess only one special ability for it but can change it by finding the crates that have a different upgrade labeled on it. Players will have to collect red coins, beat certain times in a race, and other wide array of objectives in multiple levels to obtain the Shine Sprites. Players will get to play in 10 different locations scattered throughout Delfino Plaza and some worlds are hidden or must collect a certain number of Shine Sprites in order to enter that world. Yoshi also plays an important role as Mario will have to use Yoshi in order to obtain a difficult Shine Sprite with the use of Yoshi aiding Mario. There are also secret levels as well hidden throughout multiple worlds in Super Mario Sunshine.

Graphics
The graphics in Super Mario Sunshine were beautiful and astonishing. Each character in the game had their own unique looks and traits, even some had minor facial features added to them to separate them from the original ones. Super Mario Sunshine brought an enormous amount of different colors and textures scattered throughout the different worlds in the game. A cool feature I noticed in the game was that by switching to first-person, and by staring directly at the sun in the game, the brightness of the sun causes the screen to bright up as if yourself were staring at it and see nothing but the brightness of the sun. The water in the game also has that realism texture to it as well as the flow in the ocean looks spectacular as well. The different textures on the grasses, trees, buildings, fruits, and other various structures and items look stupendous in the way they are shaped and formed. The game has that high definition effect to it as the game runs real smoothly and has little graphic errors and has fantastic clarity.

Controls
The controls in Super Mario Sunshine can somewhat prove some difficult for players to experience first hand. Like most games, the control stick operates the same way to control the movements of your character. To use the F.L.U.D.D device, the controls will be a hassle to understand and control, and will vary since the player can have different abilities equipped on it. By gaining more experience and just messing around with the controls for a while, then players will understand the controls a bit better and will become less of a hassle to play with. Overall, the controls for this game are quite easy once the player gains more experience or just becomes addicted to the awesome gameplay the game possesses.

Rating

Nice review as well. I like your game choices haha.

This was a great game I had played before.
Just loved how each level had their own unique objective to get a shine sprite.
