Gameplay
[align=center]Upon starting the single-player campaign for NFS Hot Pursuit, the player will be able to choose between being the racer or the police. If the player chooses a race mission, the player will need to avoid being pursued and taken out by police forces while trying to get to the end of the race. The racers are given a set amount of different abilities as well as the police forces.The abilities given to the racers are EMPs, spike strips, and a nitrous boost.The police forces will be able to send out police helicopters that will fly ahead of the racers and drop spike strips in the middle of the road in order to slow down the illegal racers. The police are able to use EMPs that disrupts the racer's gears and slows them down as well as send out roadblocks of police vehicles to slow down any evading racers ahead of them.If playing as the police, the player will pursue the racers in order to stop the race.

Graphics
The graphics in NFS Hot Pursuit are extremely brilliant and stunning, its as if it was viewed in high definition. The details on the vehicles in the game make the player feel like they could just touch it as if they were real. Upon crashing into barriers and other vehicles, the way the vehicle is impacted and see the debris that falls off the vehicle looks amazing. During a race, the background couldn't have been more detailed and greatly created. It would seem like as if the player was standing inside the game and looking at the gorgeous view.

Controls
The controls for this game are easily able to learn and remember. The controls are quite simply the same compared to other racing games so a player new to Need For Speed won't have a difficult time learning the basics. Just by holding down the left trigger/bumper on the controller will allow the player to perform a drift which will aid them for those hairpin/difficult turns. The player could also use a driving wheel control system to actually get that surreal feeling of driving such a car as if in real life.

Extra Info
I had noticed this when playing the online portion of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. If the player is the racer and collides into another vehicle or barrier, the opposing players playing as the cop would continue to ram your vehicle and upon re-spawning back into the race,you would automatically be busted. A very cheap way to end a player's race and completely ruin the experience for the player that didn't deserve to be busted in a cheap way, so be wary when being the illegal racer and try not to crash.
