Synopsis

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (3: A-spec Guran Tsrisumo Sur A-supekku) is a racing game, the first in the Gran Turismo series released for the PlayStation 2. Gran Turismo 2000 was the working name used when demonstrated at E3 2000/2001. The game was a critical and commercial success, going on to become one of the best-selling console games of all time.

Setting

Well the main setting of this game is the race track, building yourself up until you are the best in the world, there were alot of racetracks also combined with rally tracks, so if your not really that big a fan of driving on roads, then just take the bumpy ride and drive on dirt. Overall the setting is pretty good, amazing the amount of levels they put in.

Setting Rating:8.5/10

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty amazing, there are a variety of competitions you can do so the game doesn't become boring really quickly, you can build you car up from a complete waste of metal to the greatest car on the game. The best thing in the game probably is when you get quite far into the game there is an 100 lap race, and when you complete it, it gives you a random really good car, and i would just keep doing it until i got loads of expensive cars and sold them for more cars. I was disappointed with this games amount of cars in GT2 it felt like there was about 600 cars but in this one it felt like there was only 200, which was pretty bad but better because i find it hard to pick a car when there are loads and loads of options. Overall this game was like no other racing game at the time, it was so good there was nothing i realy hated about it.

Gameplay Rating:9.3/10

Graphics

The graphics for this were pretty good, i didn't really find much to hate about it, i belive the sounds were realistic, the drifting, crashing and driving on dirt was all realistic aswell, therefore i belive these were the best graphics at the time. Overall the graphics were really smooth and enjoyable.

Graphics Rating:7.3/10

Controls

Well the controls were easy and simple they were the same as any other racing game, therefore if you like racing games the controls on this game will be a piece of cake for you, i experience no bugs playing this game when i would drift and brake, so i really like this games controls. Overall this game controls were simple and easy to use.

Controls Rating:8.7/10

Multiplayer

There is a multiplayer feature to this game, you can either play with 2 people or up to 6 on a i-LINK, also you could change the settings so you could have a certain amount of laps which annoyed my friends when i changed the laps to 99. overall the multiplayer was fun, but can get boring.

Multiplayer Rating:7.6/10

Game Reception

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is considered a critical and commercial success for Sony in Japan, Europe, and North America. The game is highly praised by game reviewers and players as one of the best racing games ever made. GT3 also received a Platinum Award from Electronic Gaming Monthly. Gran Turismo 3 has a 94% rating on GameRankings as of May 5, 2010, placing it among the top 50 of all games on the multi-platform site and in the top 10 of PlayStation 2 titles. It frequently appears on 'Top 100 Lists' such as that by IGN.

Overall

Overall the game was pretty good although quite old now, the graphics and gameplay was smooth, i literally have nothing to hate about this game!

Overall Rating:8.2/10

I disagree. This game was a good deal of my childhood. On the graphics - at the time, this was actually a pretty good game in terms of graphics. I'd give it like a 9.2
