"Kinect Sports is a sports video game developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. The game utilises the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral and was released in North America, Europe, Australasia and Japan in November 2010 as a launch title for Kinect.

The game is a collection of six sports simulations and eight mini-games, designed to demonstrate the motion-sensing capabilities of Kinect. The six sports included are: Bowling, Boxing, Track & Field, Table Tennis, Beach Volleyball and Soccer (Football outside North America). Standing in front of the Kinect sensor, players compete by mimicking actions performed in real-life sports, such as throwing a javelin or kicking a football". Wikipedia

The Full Length Review

This game is hilarious to play, it gets your off your arse and into getting fit while playing your xbox! This game is fun for the whole family. Kinect sports offers 6 main activities and a variety of mini games with no controller needed! The games does kinect a huge favour demonstrating the wonderful kinect technology. It makes you feel like you are actually there, playing games like table tennis and bowling you will feel very in control. But there are some errors with the pickup of the action of some bodyparts in games like football and boxing. With only 6 events which make up the game, you easily run out of time. Mini games really spice up the gaming and generally make it very entertaining! You can also use your xbox avatar which is pretty cool allowing customisation into the games. Replays are very effective when you get a reply they put in very popular music to match the special moments of winning! This game provides 6 different sports (bowling, boxing, beach volleyball, track and field, table tennis and soccer). The games are very easy to pick up due to the tutorials given before you start each game (can be turned off). Everytime you play (win or lose), you gain points that take you to a new level. This is consistent with other Kinect games but they're all separate. I would've liked more sports like baseball, golf and handball to be included but this is still a great buy nevertheless. The Kinect completely changes the way people are playing on their Xbox, yet there were no "enhanced" guidelines for how an XBox should be positioned given the nature of what people will be doing with it. Having been an Xbox owner since just after launch, the position my XBox was in was never a problem until I installed Kinect. The Kinect Sports Hurdles mini-game has you running rapidly in place and then jumping in your living room.
