Synopsis

Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place at the fictional New England boarding school, Bullworth Academy and tells the story of mischievous 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he goes through the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence. Beat the jocks at dodge ball, prank the preppies, save the nerds, kiss the girl and ultimately navigate the social hierarchy in the worst school around. The world in Bully in many ways adheres to a structured schedule, with students attending two periods of classes and engaging in other daily routines. Yet there is also a degree of freedom in how players go about their daily tasks. They can elect to skip classes and cause mischief, at the risk of being sent to the principal's office for reprimanding. There are also missions to undertake on behalf of the five main cliques populating the school: jocks, nerds, greasers, preps, and bullies. Hopkins can interact with each character positively or negatively, through carefully worded dialogue or via pranks such as shoving students in lockers or pouring itching powder on garments.

Gameplay

Now I speak for everyone that has played this game is that they have had loads of fun. This game has so many fun things to do and the fact that the campaign changes to holidays like Halloween and other stuff. Throw stinkbombs in the halls, kiss girls, kiss boys (if you're into that), ride your skateboard in the halls, drive bikes and drive go karts. The gameplay is really good and keeps you coming back for more. That is what you would expect from a good game and this does it exactly. Jimmy Hopkins, the main character that you play as is quite a small teenager but definitely packs a punch against the other students. What's better than waking up in the morning, walking out of your dorm room and giving the nearest kid a wedgie. Stuff like that is enjoyable and the game is based on a school campus ground but you can venture far out into the city. The missions in the game aren't that difficulty and can completed with ease. There are also collectibles in the game hidden around the world. There are loads of rubber bands and when you find all of them you can make a rubber band ball which is definitely the best thing to use in the game. Take it out and throw it at the wall and watch it bounce all over the place causing mayhem. The lessons in the game that you have to attend to are really good as well and have actual lessons where you dissect frogs in Biology, play Dodgeball against the Jocks, locate cities in Geography and take pictures in Photography which is a really good variety for the player that doesn't have to stick to the missions all the time. All of the lessons are fun to do and to be honest they are really exciting. As you complete lessons you start to unlock stuff. When you complete a lesson in the Shop Class you will unlock a new BMX bike. So if you want the best bike out there then attend your lessons. Environments that you can venture out to are really well down such as going down to the woods, the asylum, into town, industrial area and the rich part of town. In the game, there are several jobs that Jimmy can do. My favourite job was the paper round because it required timing and accuracy, as well as a dog chasing you half the time really keeps you on your toes and keeps you focused while you try to earn some money for some new garments or a new bike. The gameplay in the game is great and there are loads of exciting things to do and I think it makes us reminisce how rebellious we might have been back in school and it really brings back some memories which is a good thing.

Graphics

The graphics in this game aren't that spectacular. The gameplay highly overshadows the graphics because I don't feel that the graphics were pushed to the extent where it could have been better. Graphics seem too cartoon like and not detailed enough. The environments are created quite well but I wish I could say the same for small things like the clothing, facial expressions and the classrooms are just a couple. This game was made a couple of years ago, but it's a big company like Rockstar Games and I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't develop the graphics further.

Overall, the game is a feel good game and it is enjoyable for people of all ages, the graphics in the game might not be up to scratch but the gameplay definitely makes up for it. There are so many things to do in the game and they're all enjoyable so I would advise getting out there and buying the game if you haven't already. When I bought it I didn't think it would be that good judging by the graphics, but I was so wrong. Never judge a book by it's cover I guess.

Game Rating: 7.5/10 (Great gameplay with loads of activities, graphics aren't as developed as they could be and a feel good game for teenagers and adults)

This game is purely fun, and filled with entertainment.

I used to spend hours on end playing this game, the missions were always fun and the tasks are easy to relate to if you go to a tough highschool.

The game overall is amazing, I need to buy it for the xbox.

Thanks for the reminder and great review.

Keep em coming ZeeGee

Thanks Fiesta, you could relate to the gameplay so much no matter what country you were living in. Glad you realised that brother and you'd be silly not to buy it again. I'll definitely keep making reviews and hopefully I'll influence others to do the same too.

Amazing review, ZeeGeeUK!

This game is very good, considering I am not into these types of games.

The plot is very good, and the game overall is very entertaining!

A very nice change of game from FPS games.

Awesome review!

Overall game: 8/10

Yeah I know, they should have released some DLC for it. I would have definitely paid for it considering the campaign is a bit easy. Could have added more variety to the game like new weapons, new bikes, even motorbikes or something.
