Synopsis

Fighters uncaged is a rather mild fighting game where YOU are the fighter. Only available on the Kinect, this game uses fighting motions and actions to activate the certain controls. You play going through the streets of New York and various places throughout the world.

Story

You play as Simon, a street thug that has to win fighting tournaments in able for your dad to pay off his "Debt" with a king pin. To get the money needed for your dad you have to win a fighting tournament that goes around fighting random people. I also found that throughout this game there was not any plot that was said, so I had to look in the booklet to find that this was the plot. You start off training with some random guy and they don't explain anything throughout the story. After training you go straight into battle and the tournament begins.

Controls

Since this a Kinect based game there is no controller and you must do everything with your body. Punches in this game seem to be delayed and the fact that the Kinect cannot pickup when you duck or knee down because it can't track everything at once, I felt that most of the controls failed me, or were very delayed. Everything seemed to be slow and not running smoothly for me. Controls are pretty much self explanatory because a Kick ~ Is a Kick. A Punch ~ Is a punch. And a Block ~ Is a block. Controls are also very hard when you sway back and forth as you seem to ALWAYS get out of the Kinect sensors way whenever you do that. Also there seemed to be a lot of bugs when you were at the Medium range as if you were too far away when you were right in front of it.

Gameplay

Playing through this game it seemed that there were endless amount of fights, and that it became VERY repetitive throughout the game. Fighting sequences were the same and the people all looked like characters from the Jersey Shore. The first few guys were quite easy to defeat but being that they never stop punching you seem to get tired and find it impossible to pause the game without getting K.O.'d within the 4 seconds to pause. The opponents also seem to block as if they don't know what they're doing and the fact that the "tough guy" revenge lines never seem to impress me the gameplay was all around not very good. There is NO custimization in this game and there was really no fun throughout.

Graphics

Considering this was a Kinect game I was not expecting very good graphics but I was surprised that they were not that bad. Considering this was one of the first games for Kinect I was quite impressed as others were not. The menu was very easy to navigate and you cannot get confused unless you try to. Cut scenes were some what realistic and character motions were very well put out. Even though they were not the best, they sure seemed to be OK for a Kinect game.

Pros

~Good excersize
~Nice graphics
~Nicely put out motions
~Smooth menu
~Easy to learn tutorial

Cons

~Very unorganized plot
~Awful motion detector compatibilty
~Little Info on Game
~Pricey
~Hard to perform moves (Sometimes)
~No custimization
~Bad game designing
~Cheeky villian outfits
