I'm curious about peoples experiences at their past/current jobs. Sites like these are great for stuff like this because we use our usernames and whatnot, so we can use some comfortable honesty without worrying. SO I am wondering where you work and if you enjoy it or how they treat you there. Also are you in the US, UK, or where? I would genuinely love to hear about your job if I end up getting any replies.
I work at Whole Foods. I wanna say its semi-decent. They give good benefits and time off. Amazon owns it so the upper management is extreme micromanagement and something I have noticed is that they frequently stare at employees for periods of time - like 5 minute which when noticed tends to develop an uncomfortable environment... We get 3 breaks on an 8 hour shift, one 30 minute break and two 10 minute breaks, and 40 hours of paid sick time a year, 40 hours of covid paid sick time a year, and we also accumulate hours of paid time off & a 20% discount on everything ... At the end of the night because of my position I stay and pull the pallets of stuff off of the truck, between like 20 and 28 pallets, and then boom the night is over for Whole Foods. Personally I have made a good amount of money from the store over the years so I have stuck with it. My team at the store is good, and the only reason I would leave is the upper management and the way things are, I continue to apply to other jobs before inflation destroys the opportunities What are your experiences? Nice one bro! Iv worked in forestry the last couple of years and I was doing welding before that! Done pig farming and fish farming aswell when I was younger haha. Iv done a fair few jobs but forestry is defo my favourite

I worked as a broadband specialist for what Americans would call Comcast. In the UK we have Sky which is essentially a subsidiary of Comcast. The pay was brilliant, was making a third of my monthly salary as bonus on top. However it's a very KPI driven job and you make the best bonus' from swindling customers into either adding things they don't want or purchasing things they don't need. The best part of the job was helping the elderly with their technology, got to have so many wonderful interactions with people over the time I was there.
However going back to the swindling it eventually overcame me and with how good I was at sales it made me realise just how awful the job can be. I eventually quit just basically not being able to feel good with myself most days. I do miss the perks of the job like tech vouchers, basically had all the new apple tech every year and also the free cable TV. I've got what's called an "immediate re-hire flag" which means if i ever apply again i go straight back through but I don't think I could ever force myself to do that line of work again. I'm now somewhat self employed working with social media, pay is steady and have much more free time with the partner. |

I can relate the morey is fire and I also realized how great I was at sales, but the job was so exerting. I'd walk like 10-15 miles everyday 6 times a week. They outsource to 3rd party companies so they basically do what they want. I did enjoy it for a while and I got in good shape from all the walking, met some interesting people and went some crazy places. I've seen people get blacklisted from working though, wouldn't be surprised if I am too because they would always give the people's account's who quit to the new team leaders so they didn't have to register them and I've seen people get banned from working before even though they are not there. They don't even know. The manager was alright and I was invited to a trip to Dallas, Texas to meet the company CEO and other executives with a couple other tham leaders and partners but I ended up quitting beforehand because I could not deal with that brutal walking for what had been 8 months rain, snow, wind storm all that. If we didn't we'd risk getting fired. Fact: I have always credited TTG for my sales and management advancement skills. This site was a blessing to me back when I was younger I was able to see how every big hacker/modder hustled in call of duty and eventually I was able to make a little money doing something of the same thing. I applied the skills I have learned from here to my life frequently at work. |
