Hey everyone so I was just thinking of the current state of the gaming industry and to be honest I'm not excited about it. In a world FULL of Microtransactions, Battle Passes and just the games that are out now and recently. Most games seem rushed, not fully finished and quite honestly lacking in every aspect. It's been awhile since I've been excited about a game coming out and do not even get me started about the Prices of games being released for the amount of content they have. I hope it gets better but honestly it doesn't look bright in the future.

I have 1 rule, If a game shows me a battle pass as soon as i open it, i drop it. Not to say every game is bad that has a Battlepass, i'm just juggling way too many at the moment and i don't want to feel obligated to grind it just in fear of missing out. That's why i don't like gaming nowadays.

But some games are great, I think we just focus too much on Multiplayer games which all the MTX lives. If you play games like Yakuza and Monster hunter and even older games like Witcher 3 are still amazing games.

Even indie games are really great nowadays, you got games like Undertale/Deltarune, and even a new one coming out soon, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (pretty much a ground-up Jet set Radio Future with the same composer)

Kinda agree with the battle pass thing. One thing I hate about it is that it counts so much on the "fear on missing out" (FOMO) thing so as a gamer, you are shoehorned to play the game all the time. If you are shoehorned to play it all the time, there's an underlying principle that since you're playing a lot, anyway, buying the premium version of the battle pass makes your time worth it. I know it's optional, but it's a diluted experience because you will supposedly miss out on optional items.

Not wrong. Just not something I am ok with preferentially.

As for microtransactions, I think they're no longer as prevalent. Ever since EA was called out on this, we've seen a resurgence of quality games with genuine longevity like Elden Ring, Monster Hunter Rise, Witcher 3, even Cyberpunk 2077 that initially fumbled is technically brimming with content. And yes I think the quoted poster and I play similar games hehe. Some.

Honestly it's just boring. They killed the BR genre with so many, cod is washed now and ea killed battlefield. Honestly having a hard time just jumping on and gaming anymore.

I think the game world is becoming more and more developed and interesting. I like to spend my free time playing games. Because it relaxes me. I think the gaming industry will get better and better. I like to play games with their own story and world. You can say that I am a fan of such games. I go through all the additions to get to know the story thoroughly. Then I like to take gaming quizzes to see how well I got through the game and know its story.

I think it's trash. I haven't had fun in a very long time. I'm tired of being bullied out of games by the matchmaker.

I agree. Not really much games that you truly can outright say that's the best game out right now. Most are from the past

I think currently the state of gaming is not that great, I believe indie titles in recent years have surpassed my expecations and in most cases end up more enjoyable then the triple-a titles that are coming out.

Obviously every company wants to make even more money with all the microtransaction stuff they add these days which I understand, but it sucks. The battle pass system especially seems to have removed that aspect of gaming where you're doing in-game challenges to unlock new gear and since they're usually timed you get the fear of missing out if you aren't playing.

Even ubisoft with their singleplayer games adding in purchasable armour and equipment, time savers etc....

Hopefully one day we return to a state that is better, but who knows.

I think more casual gamers need to come back and just have fun ! IMO streamers ruined gaming. All these kids and adults wanna be the best and act like their favorite streamer. Really annoying to me. Can't really have fun on shooters anymore like Fortnite or CoD. Way to many sweats etc. also games are rushed now days for the money and they don't care because people not only
Pre order and buy it , they buy all the item shop crap and coins / CoD points, vbucks , etc etc.
