Recently just fixed my iPad, replacing the battery and a new ribbon for the home button but now my iPad will power up from a charger from dead but when on it will not hold a charge at all. Any ideas is it because of the new battery maybe give it some time I'm not sure.

Was the new battery genuine and "new"? Or was it a used part? Any battery I have replaced it has powered up straight away and worked.

I could almost 100% pinpoint this on the battery still do iPads have the battery health option on settings?

It was 100% new but was sitting for about a year before I put it in. Didn't know that could do any harm but I'll check that out.

Very strange, I do recon it's a faulty battery and you may be pulling it apart again soon hopefully all goes well and your next replacement powers the device up.
