Hello all. I am fairly new to modding Halo games on my RGH but I do know most of the basics. I know how to patch .map mods, use RTE tools, etc. As does a buddy of mine who also uses an RGH. My question pertains more to modding online than by ourselves locally.

A couple things to note. We both have RGH consoles. He has Trinity. I have Corona. We're both on the latest system dash. We both use paid stealth servers to go online. We both have Halo 3 up and running on our RGH consoles with all the necessary DLC. And we both have been able to play private Halo 3 matches over Xbox Live.

My question is, is there a way we can play modded .maps together over Xbox Live? Assuming we both have the exact same .map installed and patched on our system along with the exact same modded Halo 3 default.xex? We attempted it once but we couldn't get it to work. It was like we weren't getting each other's in-game notifications for some reason. Again, we can play the normal Halo 3 online together no issue. But is there a way to play modded maps online together? We used a Halo 3 mythic game download rather than the base Halo 3. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Please let me know!

i may have figured out your issue not 100% sure though
basically on halo 3 if both of you have the same modded map and it replaces a normal map you will both disconnect on each others screen for somereason

you can either find a map that work with other players like cellmates/ai playground etc or try this below

i havent tested this with anyone but its worth a try
copy the map, the mapinfo and the blf of the map then open the info in assembly

edit the map id to a random number and change the filename (changed mine to test as a example), name and desc aswell
after you done this click save

next you want to create a patch

include your mapinfo you saved but make the output and filename your map name
and make sure customblf data is enabled

after this just simply apply the patch like normal
once its done rename the file to whatever you named it as
instead of shrine and ur good
all you have to do then is just transfer the .map and the mapinfo to halo 3
