In the UK we will be banning motoring companies from producing new petrol and diesel vehicles from 2030 which is meh, I'm not really bothered.

I'd say all major car companies have either all electric vehicles or are in the process of developing/designing new electric vehicles.

The question is, do I wait a couple of years for batteries/technology to become more advanced or look to purchase one now? Where I live there are no super chargers from Tesla and there are limited rapid chargers...

Whats you opinion, wait or purchase now? There are so many things to factor in, it's just not as easy atm to purchase an electric vehicle compared to a combustion engine vehicle.

Ultimately depends on your needs. Buying now is of course supporting that crucial development for the future but if it was up to me I would wait. It's a volatile situation imo, could go either way.

I don't think the whole electric car thing will work this fast in the US at least. I'm not buying into the EV until I'm forced to or better options are available. I drive way too far and charging would be difficult for me beings that I currently live in ana apartment. Everyone's situations are different though, I personally am not going EV though.

Not sure what it's like in the UK, but here in America electric cars are becoming very common. Here there are many charging stations located in public places and it is fairly cheap to charge - My friend has a Model Y, and pays about $10 for a charge (public place) while me driving and filling up with 93, I pay ~$60 every 4-5 days. Reliability of these cars are still unknown but it is still too soon to be saying how they will be in the long run, although electric cars in general will definitely be more common in the near future.

Can you afford an in home charging station?

You're ready for an EV if you can charge at home and drive less than the car's range every day. This is all you need to know.

You will rely on home charging until fast chargers are ubiquitous like gas stations. 240v outlet not required.

Road trips are fine, but your route needs a little extra planning and add 30% or more travel time.

Tesla is the only good option. Other chargers are too few and too slow.

The reason I'm asking this is the place where I work is implementing a new staff incentive to purchase an EV and we get so much money off the vehicle from the government. For example, I was looking at a Tesla Model 3, long range, 10,000 miles a year (contract) and it would be £350 a month and than includes a home charger for free.

Very tempting but the infrastructure just isn't hear in the North East of England... I wish the Model Y was here in the UK!!!! By far one of the best looking models.
