So here's a little background, I bought the PC (CyberPower) from a guy who said he hasn't used it in awhile, and from what I can gather from update information, the last windows update was done on 11/2020. Now I've already been playing and everything works perfectly fine. Fast forward to the next day, I'm loading up a game, and it just shuts off, then reboots like nothing happened. Then, worked like normal. Now today my wife was using it for work, and it happened to her multiple times. So upon hearing that, I was just gonna check for windows updates and driver updates, (slipped my mind to do them first). So then I'm downloading the lastest feature update, and sometimes my CPU will spike, the highest I saw it go was 72%, then it'll stop back down to around 10%, and then reboot for no reason at all. The update finally finished installing, and I went to restart the pc like it says to do, and now it's just stuck on "Working on Updates 0% Do not turn off your PC. This will take while" and the little circle isn't moving, and it's been like that for around 10 minutes and I know not to reboot it in this screen. Any ideas on what to do?

Checked all of that and it's all good. Recently updated GPU Drivers and now I get a blue screen crash with nvlddmkm.sys error.

Update: the OS is currently on a build from 2019, but I can't update it at all. If I try the automated way, it just gets stuck in a download loop, and when I try to do it manually with the Catalog, it crashes, then I tried the update assistant, which made it way further, it would download the update, get everything ready, then once it starts installing it crashes again, giving the same nvlddmkm.sys error.
I can play all my games perfectly fine, never crashes while im playing Squad, or Arma, but if you do anything else, like open chrome, or use Remote Desktop, it crashes within 5 minutes.
I can't factory reset the pc either, because once it starts, it'll restart and attempt the reset, but once it hits 1% it says it can't reset it and just reboots.

If anyone at all has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If it works fine when you are playing games etc then to me it sounds like a hard drive issue. Have you tried other hard drives? What I would do is find an old hard drive that isn't being used (or try and find a cheap-ish one you can buy) and install windows to it. Plug that in to the PC and make sure all of the other drives are unplugged. Boot to windows and test to see if the problems still occur. If not, you will probably need a new drive.

If the issue is not your drive however, their are troubleshooting tests you can use for most components such as memtest for your RAM (although I don't think it is your RAM).

As a last resort I would try and see if you have any local PC repair shops near-by because they may be able to fix the issue. Before resorting to that, make sure you try a new hard drive with a fresh windows install because you can then determine if it is a software or hardware issue.

I haven't thought about the Hard Drive, would it matter if I also had an SSD? On a side note, I don't have another hard drive, what I should be looking for? (I'm not super smart with pc stuff) also, wouldn't I need to purchase a copy of windows 10? I bought the pc from a private seller, it's about 2-3 years old.

I would back up any important files to the cloud (google drive, Dropbox, one drive etc) and make a bootable windows usb so you can install windows (there are many tutorials which go through the steps to do this). Once you have done both of those, format the drive that doesn't have windows installed on it and then shit your pc down. Once you have done that, take the drive that has windows installed out and make sure the other drive is the only drive left in there. Now make sure your bootable usb is plugged in and then boot up the pc. You should be on the windows setup screen. The tutorial that you watch should go through the rest and if not then it's pretty straightforward.

If you need more help then lmk and I will try to house you through it. I am off now but later on if you still need help either message me or leave another reply here and I'll be back to assist you

If you have more than one stick of RAM, try removing one and using it as normal and see if you can replicate the issue. Failing memory doesn't fail every time and can be fixed with another cheap stick if that's the issue.

When you say it "just shuts off" do you mean that literally or does it hang / crash and turn itself off? If you use it and it literally just turns off completely with no warning it could be the symptom of a failing PSU which is far from uncommon in prebuilt systems.

It honestly could be a few things but absolutely try running on a single stick of RAM (or just remove one of them if you have more than 2) and report back.

I do have 2 x 8gb, I'll try remove one and see what happens, then try the other one, and now, it doesn't just reboot randomly, but when it did, you could be browsing chrome, or watching HBO, and it would just black screen, all lights turn off, then immediately turned back on. ( but it literally never crashes while playing games, which I don't understand) But now since I've updated my drivers, it doesn't do that, instead of rebooting, it will crash to a blue screen and say "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE" " nvlddmkm.sys " but yet again, it won't do it while playing any games, I usually play Arma III & Squad on ultra settings, and I've even tried to get it to crash while playing, and it just won't do it.
