Hello, one thing I've never really looked into but just expected to be better was internet speed. I understand your router has a max speed. But our provider sent it a letter saying their upgrading stuff and ours is going from 200 -> 300 mbps. Well we see an improvement? The reason I ask is their adding a 9$ fee to use their router and I don't think theirs a way around using their router.. like I can use my own but it's just in their service so no matter what I'll be paying that 9$/mo. But why I'm wondering is their 100mbps service is increasing to 150mbps.. so basically... would dropping from 200 -> 150 be noticeable? Will going from 200 -> 300 be noticable?

Genuinely I won't move to a new home or apartment if 1GB speeds aren't possible. I used to have lower speed internet like you, once I got 1GB I just can't go back. From getting games to download in mere minutes or seconds to being able to stream and everything else I do. Hell, I have Google Assistant bulbs in my house 18 to be exact. All I pay for is my internet and that's about 84.00 USD. Could reduce it with my own router and modem, don't care to. Point is, faster internet you really notice the speed.

Meh, depends where the user lives. DOCSIS exists...

Honestly, what is the small print of speed you're minimally guaranteed anyway? You'll never hit maximum speed.

An ISP may sell a 1Gbps link, but read the small print, you're guaranteed a minimum of 600Mbps and that's fine because they're telling you.

I'd say going 200-300 would be noticeable, but not too much. Dropping speeds will always be noticeable.
