For me, life is an experience and movies and books are a great way to expand your horizons by getting a glimpse of experiences of other people which in turn add to yours. Following is the list of movies that are really special to me and have helped me grow as a person. (The reason for liking these movies will be mentioned later)

AVATAR (2009) - The best part for me was the interaction between animals and humanoids at Pandora. Unlike Earth, people didn't force, torture or harass these animals but had an amazing way to work in harmony with them. Nature and its powers have been showcased exotically. This also shows how a paraplegic feels when he gets a chance to use his legs normally. There is much more to this movie than what has been mentioned here. Imagination at its best, never seen anything like it, couldn't ask for morebitlife pc jiofi.local.html.

Cliche but No Country for Old Men is probably one of my favorites, the character interactions as well as motivations are all pretty golden. As well as the characters all behaving fairly intelligently and realistically, Javier Bardem plays possibly the most unnerving villain of any movie I've ever seen.

Children of Men as well, probably the best shot and most interesting idea for a movie I've ever seen. I could probably ramble about it for a couple pages but if you haven't seen it yet, I absolutely recommend it.

Edit: Partially for the meme, but American Psycho is up there for me too. The book is absolutely disgusting and I had to put it down a few times just because of the "What the hell" factor. The movie tones it down but definitely does an amazing job of visualizing the yuppy pyschopath type, Christian Bale convinced me he had dead hookers in the trunk of his car irl with the performance he gave.
