defo a laptop if you're not really into playing games on pc and with a laptop you can just take it anywhere with you to do whatever you intend to do like editing and stuff.

I;d get a desktop if you wanna stream and edit but a laptop would be ideal for school work etc. If you have the space for a desktop, I would go with that. The only reason I would go with a laptop is if you wanted to be able to take it places etc.

I bought a MacBook Pro for editing and I hate it. A laptop might be okay if you're using smaller editing programs, but not Adobe Premiere Pro. My MacBook is not enough to handle all of the effects, rendering is slow, and playback is also laggy. So I also built a PC that I use for everything except school and work. I would recommend building a PC for like $1600 for your everyday use. Then buy a $400 laptop with remaining budget JUST for school. You get the best of both worlds. A $1600 PC will be enough for everything you need. You may have to buy pre-built to get some of the parts for cheaper tho.
