Thanks for the advice guys it was about 1k and yes im from the UK, the truth is I have already paid it back but I was wondering if I made a mistake of paying them back or if I should of kept it as it was their mistake sending it to me.

If it was a mistake then you will have to pay it back. If you don't give it back they could take a legal action but that also depends on how much it was.

I just realised something. If you was in a contract (let's say 30 hours a month) and you haven't been paid for the remaining time on said contract, they still owe you that money. By the sounds of things, they must've got rid of you during your 2nd monthly contract and they've had to pay you 2 months salary. You're more than entitled to keep the money.

So for example say I got paid on the 31st and my last day was the 31st. I was still getting paid my usual salary for 2 months after I left.
