Duos wrote So I had a weird experience last night not sure if it was sleep paralysis or not but I opened my eyes and it felt like I was being help down I couldn't move and I tried screaming but nothing came out and I'd snap out of that and be able to move and it kept happening on and off all last night. This has never happened before.

What do you think could it have been sleep paralysis ?

I have narcolepsy and i used to get sleep paralysis when i was younger, yes what you had was sleep paralysis. It usually happens when you don't get enough sleep during the nights or your on a bad sleeping schedule and your body is forcing itself to wake up because its used to getting up at a certain time of day

Definitely sounds like sleep paralysis. Thankfully I can't say I've experienced anything like you described yet. I do however constantly experience hypnic jerks, which is somewhat linked to sleep paralysis. As much as it's more associated with falling in dreams. For me it tends to be more just before I'm about to fall asleep. It's apparently something to do with a battle for control in the brain between wakefulness and dreams.
