I'm going to do a 3.5 hdd mod to my trinity rgh tomorrow and I know taking the dvd drive out will give me minor issues. Is it possible to open my updflash.bin in jrunner and enable nodvd then flash back to the console using xell??

What are you actually trying to do Changing the HDD doesn't have anything to do with flashing the nand over again.

The hard drive and the nand or disk drive is is 3 different things flashing the nand with nodvd isn't going to change anything to the hard drive

Thank you very much for your help. I'm doing a 3.5 hdd mod which is going where the dvd drive would be and I've read into it and found out once I take the dvd drive out the middle light on the faceplate will continue to blink unless you enable no dvd in jrunner before flashing the xebuild so my question. Is without soldering my nand x back into the console can I open my updflash.bin in jrunner enable no dvd then flash the updflash.bin back to the console with Xell? Instead of doing the soldering with my nand x

Don't see why that wouldn't work because at the end of the day your only flashing your nand you should be fine to do it that way

Not sure if the led will stop flashing or not I have never tried it. Also I believe it flashes because it thinks the dvd tray is open. But you can try it and see what happens. Please give feed back after you do it. To let us know or I will try it myself and give feed back also on my next console I do

I did the mod started it off trying to wire sata power cable wires directly to the underside of the motherboard where the psu socket is and it didnt work so after some research I found connecting the wires with the dvd drive power wires which works if your hdd is formatted to fat32 then when connected to console is configured under console/storeage settings. The middle light (Power) on the ROL blinks constantly but I bypassed it by jumping pins 4 and 6 on the dvd drive power connector that attaches to the motherboard. Now i have 1tb of space with a 3.5hdd inside of the dvd drive

I used hot glue temporarily to protect the soldered connections for the HDD power cable and cut the back of the DVD drive housing to accommodate for the massive 3.5hdd power connectors to be easily connectable.
