I am sceptical about it the same as many people. Elderly will get it first so me being young can see the side effects first before making my decision on it.

You're the problem. Some people are asymptomatic and you're mixing with all these people and possibly passing it on and on and on. Vile behaviour and attitude. Won't be that when someone elderly you're close to gets it.

Screw your head on, idiot.

In all honesty, considering my job I'd go out on a limb and say I won't have much choice lmao. But we can hope that I won't. At least this soon I'd refuse, maybe down the road depending on how others react.

Pfizer/BioNTech 2 Stage vaccine has been approved for rollout in UK

cnn.com/2020/12/02/uk/pfizer-coro...index.html

Rollout is being prioritized to home healthcare workers (Retirement homes and in-care facilities), Frontline healthcare workers, those in the 70+ age group, and then others with extreme underlying conditions. My best guess of what qualifies for "extreme underlying" would be Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, and any other condition that might effect blood supply to organs.

Phase 3 trials show a 94.5% efficacy rate, which is extremely impressive given the time frame of this mRNA vaccine development cycle. This is a two stage vaccine, similar to how your MMR, HPV, Hep A/B vaccines require a main dose + booster after a certain time frame. This one looks to be 3 weeks after initial IM injection.

Overall extremely promising, the FDA in the US is likely to approve Moderna or Pfizer's development before year's end. At the moment the largest issues with vaccine roll out is storage and transportation, however the US is very likely to include funding for this in their next relief legislation, so we'll see if that is a factor.

I think I already posted, but yes of course I will take it when it is available to me. I work in medical device and pharmaceutical research and development, and I assist in and run clinical trials from time to time. What the scientists behind these vaccines have been able to do in this time frame is nothing short of blockbuster movie plot insanity and amazement. It's outstanding the results they've been able to achieve given the circumstance. The scientists working on this are smarter than me, you, and everyone else on this anime dating website. Medical device and Pharmaceutical regulations (Speaking for the US) are absolutely insane in a good way. To bring a drug or device to market costs millions of dollars and thousands of hours of labor and intensive study by people who have dedicated their lives to this field. Just as an example, if a typical placebo involved study is ran on 1,000 volunteers, and out of that 1k 1 person who was given an actual dose develops a side effect, then that is required to be listed as a possible side effect. This is why those surreal late night pharmaceutical commercials rattle of a ton of side effects at the end, and also why they always seem to read "These claims have not been evaluated by the FDA". I can not overstate how difficult is to have a drug approved for market.

If these vaccines are able to pass these requirements and be given approval, I 100% trust them, and I think you should too.
