For gaming I suggest AT LEAST an i7. The graphics card is okay if you want basic graphics but if you're just going to play gta and cod then you should be fine.

What's the difference between i7 and i5 I've had a few people say i5 is fine but I'm open to every opinion

i7 is the next CPU up, more powerful than the i5.
Intel has many versions of their i Series CPUs. Lowest being i3, then i5, then i7 and then the highest being i9

Well, what do you mean by "good"? What do you want it to be "good" at exactly? Is it just for playing GTA and CoD? If so, then it depends on what monitor(s) you're using.

It's around $850 worth of components, so at $1015, it's not egregiously overpriced. However, I wouldn't be buying it, since even $800 would be enough to build a better system, and $900 will build you a far better system.

Eh, wot? Why?

StayModded68 wrote What's the difference between i7 and i5

It depends which specific i5 and i7 you are talking about. Typically though, the main difference between an i5 and i7 is the core/thread count.
With the current 10th generation of Core i CPU's, the i5's are 6C/12T and i7's are 8C/16T, so the main benefit of an i7 over an i5 is the extra 2 cores/4 threads, which really isn't all that beneficial in games currently.

StayModded68 wrote I've had a few people say i5 is fine but I'm open to every opinion

Since 6C/12T is still perfectly sufficient for gaming, then yeah, if you're only using the system to play games, an i5 is likely to be fine.
In GTA V and CoD specifically, you'll see absolutely no worthwhile performance difference between a current generation i5 and i7. They'll perform pretty much on par, within margin of error.

Also, with a low-end/mid-ranged GPU like a GTX 1660(Ti), you'll have an even harder time finding any sort of improvement in gaming performance with an i7 over an i5, since the GPU is likely going to be limiting you before the CPU.

Just noticed that I missed this;
Forums/t=7803927/not-getting-eith...stead.html

So, $1000USD budget, you should be looking at something like this;
PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Best Buy)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($57.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Crucial P2 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($94.50 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB MINI ITX OC Video Card ($279.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case ($61.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ B&H)
Monitor: Pixio PXC243 23.6" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor ($159.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1024.43

Not only does this include a nice 1080p144Hz monitor for the same price, but it's also just a better system than the i5 system you've asked about.
So, without monitor, you'd be saving $150 and still have a better PC.

R5 3600>i5-10400(F).
RTX 2060>GTX 1660Ti, plus the 2060 gives you RTX+DLSS support.

Grab yourself any cheap kb+mouse combo for now.

Why different? Do you just want a cheaper GPU? If so, you'd need to specify how much cheaper you're looking for. You could drop to a GTX 1660 Super, but it's only going to save you $50ish. The RTX 2060 is well worth the extra $50 IMO, especially @ 1080p144Hz.

StayModded68 wrote any chance I could add some lights to it

Yeah, add any RGB strips you want. Also, if you want, you could spend an additional $25 on the case to get the variant with RGB fans;
