Post your current specs including the model number of your power supply.
CPU - Intel Xeon E3 1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz
Motherboard - MSI B85M-E45 (MS-7817) (SOCKET 0)
Memory - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
GPU - 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (NVIDIA)
Storage - 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1ER162 (SATA )
Storage - 232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB (SATA (SSD))
PSU - Corsair CP-9020048-UK Builder Series CX600
My case i can't find the number but looks just like a Phanteks Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass ATX Midi Tower PC Case

How much do you want to spend on the upgrade?
Ideally around £700-£1100

What is your goal for the upgrade?
I can run most games ok atm but i would like cod at a better FPS and better quality and just to have to not upgrade again for awhile

Would most likely need to upgrade the motherboard. With that, you can upgrade to a better CPU, get DDR4 ram instead of DDR3 etc.

If you are willing to spend that much on just an upgrade, i would recommend a new mobo and a new ryzen CPU, as that way you have a lot to spend on a good GPU.

Your storage seems fine, unless you want another hard drive. Keep the SSD for your OS and other important stuff.

I would recommend a ryzen 5 3600x, or if you want to go overkill, a ryzen 7 3700x, but look at some youtube videos to see the difference and if it would bother you.

A GOOD mobo, like the ROG STRIX B450 F or Mortar MAX are decent - they support DDR4 memory, some more than others but again, depends on what else you are planning to get.

DDR4 memory - Dont have to get anything fancy, like corsair vengence or something. Depends on your aesthetics, but 3200MHZ is a good all round speed supported by the boards above.

For the GPU, i would say the new 3070 If you can find it anywhere. Great performance, great price, dont think you can go wrong with it.

For the PSU and case, i would upgrade to a 700w or so, probably not COMPLETELY needed, but i always like to have something a bit more than needed. Im not the best on PSUs tho, so i wont be much help there, same with cases. Just get something highly thought of online and of size.

Take a look at PcPartpicker.com and make sure everything you want is compatible.

If i am wrong on anything, people, please correct me.

If you need anything, message me on here or Kilo#0001 on discord.

Thanks and GL <3

What is the make and model of your monitor(s)?
Is Call of Duty the only reason you're upgrading? If so, what Call of Duty, and in what way is your system not currently performing how you would like it to?

If it's just higher FPS you want in CoD, then a GPU upgrade will do you fine. No need for a CPU/Mobo upgrade.
Which GPU makes sense for you depends entirely on your monitor(s) though, and what kind of performance you're expecting.

BenQ GL2450H (1920x1080@60Hz)
BenQ XL2411Z (1920x1080@144Hz)

Yeah just want better FPS and quality wise clearer on the newer games without putting everything on low. Everything with my PC runs well, i want to get away from console and play primarily on PC.

Thanks for the help

Are you comfortable waiting for a month? If so, I'd hold off for the RTX 3070 to release. It should be available to buy at the end of October, will be £500-550 for one. Also AMD's Navi2 GPU's are supposed to be getting announced on October 28th.

With a nice new RTX 3070, I'd definitely want a better PSU than that CX600 you've got. Something like this would do just fine;
amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C8BQ2NG?tag=pc...&psc=1

If you want to spend the whole £1100, you can pretty much build a new system;
PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£184.50 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (£140.49 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory (£60.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For £0.00)
Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£109.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For £0.00)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB GAMING Twin Edge Video Card (£513.67 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300 ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For £0.00)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£87.99 @ Currys PC World)
Total: £1097.63

I'd probably grab a different RTX 3070 than that Zotac one, it's just a placeholder.
AMD is announcing new CPU's on October 8th, and I imagine that will include an R5 4600. So I'd hold off for that at the very least, and then either get an R5 4600 if it's reasonably faster than a 3600, or R5 3600's might come down in price a little bit once 4600's are announced/available.
