What do you guys do for a living?

Heavy Equipment Operator.

How long have you worked there?

Over 6 years

Do you like your job?

It's not to bad as long as you get enough sleep, also the youngest operator by far.

Cons of the job?

Having to deal with managers and people who think they know everything.

Are you happy where you are at?

I'm happy with how far I have come from.

Engineering Project Management, in the biomedical field (My bg is in BME)

I mostly work on projects designing things like Prosthetics, Insulin delivery devices, and work in the research portion of identifying new device needs or how we can improve past iterations. Before working in PM I was a Biomedical Engineer working with this same company doing more design-focused work, i.e CAD and device mock-ups, now I do less of that and more of making sure we're navigating in accordance with FDA regulation/requirements, if we're going to hit/miss milestones, cost, etc. Which mostly means I spent 90% of my time in email chains, stand ups, or preparing reports for the guys up the food chain to tear me apart over.

Other ?'s:

How long have you worked there?:

In my current position I'm coming up on just over a year.

Do you like your job?:

Absolutely, I enjoy the combination of life sciences and problem solving that comes with this field, as well as having the opportunity to see devices I've helped design make a change in peoples lives (Unfortunately I don't get to dictate pricing though).

Cons of the job?:

While I get to lead projects, I don't really get to pick my projects. And due to constraints of funding/research/market demand, there have been a handful of times that a really promising/enjoyable project has been scrapped due to things out of my control.

Edit: Also, not really specific to this job but the contracting industry, because I work as a contractor my job is basically on a year-year basis, luckily the medical device industry is one that doesn't exactly fall out of demand because people are always going to need devices, but if something were to happen where the company had to make cuts, contractors are normally a cheap way to do so.

Are you happy where you are at?:

Absolutely, mostly for the reasons given for why I like the job. I do have other aspirations for my career but I'm still pretty young in the grand scheme of things so I'm not in any kind of sprint at the moment.

I have a few different gigs, but most of my income is from Music Production, Audio Engineering and my clothing brand. Never a bad day at work!

Maybe you should get some work done instead of typing an essay on a gaming and tech forum
