Current specs:
I5 2500K 3.3Ghz Box Socket 1155
gigabyte Z68X-UD4
Kingstone Hyperex (2x4GB)
geforce GTX 960
Western digital 2 TB 7200 64 MB SATA 2
DVD RW DL 22X SATA BLACK OEM
sd card reader
FA GX 650W 80PLUS COOLER MASTER
Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Atx

How much do you want to spend on the upgrade?
Open to any suggestions

What is your goal for the upgrade?

My PC has been up and running for 9 years already but it's showing it's age. Until now I have been super lazy not overclocking my 2500k but now it's about time!

I'm looking for a decent air cooler to bring it up to 4,5.
I have been taking a look to the well known Cooler Master Hyper 212 but it looks a bit outdated, Scythe Fuma 2 looks good but I'm not sure if it fits yet. Honestly I have no idea so any suggestions on those or other models are welcome

I'm also looking for a ram upgrade because I'm a bit short while using Zbrush or working with 4k+ textures in 3D models.

Additionally some SSD recommendations could be helpful, I'm looking to have one just to install the OS.

if you upgrade to 9th gen that's a massive upgrade.this then will allow you to get a nvme SSD. with much faster speeds and have ddr4 ram with higher speeds

I would get the i5 9600kf as its a bit cheaper than the 9600k because it doesn't use intel hd graphics ... you won't need this as you have a graphics card..

Cooler Master Hyper 212 is an awesome standard cooler. I would get it but that's up to you.

gtx 1650 super graphics card will do any job needed

let me know if you want any more info

You need to give us some sort of budget and currency to work with. We have no idea where you are, so your currency could be USD, CAD, AUD, NZD, GBP, Euros, anything.
Also our suggestions on how much you should spend are quite likely to not be within your budget anyway, so you have to give us some sort of rough idea at the very least.

If it was me, at this point I'd honestly probably replace the entire system, just re-use the HDD and keep the case if you don't hate it. Maybe re-use the GPU for now, but I'd still be aiming for an upgrade in the near future.

However, that'll cost a lot more than adding 8GB RAM, a cheap(ish) cooler, and an SSD.

I have no choice but to believe you are trolling. The 1650 isnt even mid tier for today's AAA games.. it works but its not mid tier and will definitely not do any job needed
