Hey guys
Basically this is my first time building a PC and don't have much knowledge on it so I wanted some other opinions. I want to be able to play AAA games at 1080p/2k max settings with high FPS. Is this build adequate? anything you would change?

CPU: Ryzen 5 36003.6hz
GPU: MSI GeForce rtx 2060 z gaming
MoBo: MI B450 Tomahawk max atx am4
RAM: Corsair 16gb ddr4 3600
Storage: Western Digital 1tb m2-2280
PSU: BE Quiet! straight power 11 650w
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 rgb

Was also divided between the Be Quiet or the Corsair rm650x.
Thanks in advance

1080p is 2k. I'm assuming when you say 2k though, you mean 1440p. So which monitor(s) are you actually using with this system then?

Depends entirely on what monitor(s) you're using, and what exactly the system is being used for? Just games, if so, what kind(s) of games?

Also how much are you paying for it? What's the budget/currency?

Well the monitors I have in mind are 24" 144hz ips 1/5ms. And mainly single player games: echo, plague tale, witcher, control etc. And some fps: CS, R6: Siege, battlefield etc.

And my budget is roughly £800-1000.

So, if you're looking at a 1080p monitor, then there's no need to be able to run games at 1440p.

For 1080p144Hz, yeah an R5 3600 and RTX 2060 is pretty decent. I wouldn't really go any lower end than a 2060 for the GPU. However, the RTX 2060 isn't a great purchase IMO and I'd definitely make some changes.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£147.75 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (£155.36 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL17 Memory (£73.56 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£109.99 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: MSI Radeon RX 5700 8 GB GAMING X Video Card (£336.40 @ Alza)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case (£57.67 @ Ebuyer)
Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£69.99 @ Currys PC World)
Total: £950.72

You can swap the motherboard for the B450 Tomahawk MAX if you want to save 50 quid. Just giving you an Asus B550 option if you want to spend a little more on the motherboard.

Swapped to Patriot RAM instead of Corsair. The Patriot stuff will most likely do better if you manually tune it. However, if you're just going to set the RAM to 3600MHz A-XMP/DOCP and do nothing else, it doesn't really matter. So, in that case, you could just get Corsair Vengeance LPX for the same price which will have better compatibility with bigger air coolers.

RX 5700 will be a great GPU for 1080p144Hz. It's quite a bit faster than an RTX 2060 for a similar price. The RX 5700 will match an RTX 2060 Super/2070's performance. If you want to pay the NVidia tax, and/or want to use RTX/DLSS, then spend a little extra and just gran an RTX 2060 Super/2070;

The vanilla RTX 2060 is just a pretty poor buy when the RX 5700 is so close in price IMO.

Don't buy a Cooler Master Hyper 212. Just a waste of money really, barely much better than stock cooler with the R5 3600. If you're going to upgrade to an aftermarket cooler, get something decent.
If you're wanting an air cooler, then Be Quiet! Dark Rock (Pro) 4 is a good shout;

I run a Dark Rock 4 on my R7 1700x.

Thanks for the detailed help. I said I'll be running 1080p for now true, but I do plan to upgrade at some point when I can afford it. But by the looks of it I assume this build will handle 1440p too.

As I'm not very knowledgeable with this stuff (yet). I don't plan on doing any manual tuning so I'll probably stick with the corsair ram.

Otherwise, looks good

Sorry, but as I'm a newbie at PC...

Note:The Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 420mm long, but video cards over 280mm may block drive bays. Since the MSI Radeon RX 5700 8 GB GAMING X Video Card is 297mm long, some drive bays may not be usable. The Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case hard drive bays are positioned where some of the bays may be physically blocked when using longer video cards

... Is this a concern?

Thanks

Another one,

Will the b550 motherboard run the CPU out the box, without a Bios update?

No, this isn't a concern. The P400A doesn't come with any 3.5" bays populating the front of the case, so there won't be any incompatibility. It just means if you decide to add 3.5" bays in the front of the case for more HDD's, then the GPU will be in the way of 1 or 2 of the HDD bays.

Yeah, definitely. It's the newest chipset from AMD.
