I've just had my daughter and my job currently is good financially... i just don't know what i want to do in life, i feel like it could get me in a direction towards becoming a mature adult; i've been out of high school for 2 years and i feel like i'm not doing anything with my life and just feel like i need guidance.. I'm looking into Air Force at the moment, i'm just wondering is anyone serving/ was serving, what branch, did you enjoy it? what is your advice for one thinking to join? please if you have any knowledge let me learn!!!

You've got to think far ahead of basic training to adequately consider time away from your family. There will be deployments, integral training, unit functions and various other things that you will be obligated to participate in. If you have a good thing going, then perhaps you could look into something more intermittent in obligations such as a Volunteer Fire Department or Auxiliary unit for a Police Department to seek opportunities to help humble and mold you into the person you seem to be aspiring for. Even if you still want to join the Military, civil service is something that I highly recommend to get your feet wet.

I was a Crew Chief on an AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopter and even had some time in as a Logistics Specialist in the United States Army, so if you have any questions, I maybe able to help or at least point you in the right direction; we have a ton of active Military and Veterans here on the forum though, so you've come to a good place.

As an adult I do know I will not be able to attend everything, I under sacrifices will have to be made, I think I'm ready for that to help my daughters future be better & mine, would it be something you recommend?

I have spoken to my brother and he said it's definitely something to consider.

He was saying he's made lifetime friends and had great experience while in the army although he got medically discharged however, the only regret he has was going in the infantry.

He now wishes he went into a trade so he had something when he came out the Army to fall back on, he is now a builder but he had to do an apprenticeship and that's a struggle when you have 2 young girls to provide for.

Hope this helps you make a decision bud by the way I'm British so may be a lot more different depending on where you're from.
