Yes, 550W is perfectly sufficient.
Is this the $1500-2000 system you're planning on building from this thread?; Forums/t=7797824/gaming-pc-build-...tnite.html If so, and you haven't bought parts yet, I'd probably make a few changes. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($172.39 @ Newegg) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Best Buy) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($129.97 @ Amazon) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC 3X Video Card ($499.99 @ Best Buy) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case ($74.98 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($115.97 @ Newegg) Monitor: VIOTEK GN32DB 32.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor ($289.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $1471.27 I'd start around there. You can save $100 by swapping the RTX 2070 Super for an RX 5700XT, which would let you up the R5 3600 to an R7 3700x/3800x within the $1500 budget. If you're spending more than $1500, you can keep the 2070 Super and still up the R5 3600 to an R7 3700x/3800x. You could also up the system from 16GB to 32GB RAM. If you do, I'd aim for a 2x16GB kit rather than 4x8GB, but it's up to you- just make sure it's at least 3200MHz, preferabbly 3600MHz. |
