What is up PC building Community,
First off I'm a noob to building PC's but that doesn't mean I don't know what is what. I have been reading articles, forums, and even watched video's on how to build a pc for about 2yrs now and I haven't made the leap of faith just yet. Although all the above did give me a lot of information, I want to know more from you, the community, for a build I'm thinking about doing. So here is my list: 1) PC Style: Gaming 2) Budget/Currency: $1200-$1500 3) Overclocking: Don't know enough about it but would like to learn 4) VR Capability: Yes, plan on running with Oculus Rift in the foreseeable future 5) Specs- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 64.95 CFM CPU Cooler Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-2666 Memory Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Graphics Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GAMING Z Video Card Case: Phanteks PH-ES614PC_BK ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA GD (2019) 500 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply External Storage: Seagate Expansion 4 TB External Hard Drive Monitor: LG 25UM58-P 25.0" 2560x1080 60 Hz Monitor I understand that you want to spend about %30-%40 of your budget on your GPU, then CPU, MOBO and so forth. I also know that parts have to be compatible with each other but that is an area I'm still learning about, like I said I'm still a noob. I'm not in a rush to buy any of these parts it's just a general idea, with helpful needed input on what works best with what or better parts for a better price. Thanks for any replies and information shared!! |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($172.39 @ Newegg) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Best Buy) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($129.97 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.98 @ Newegg) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB PULSE Video Card ($399.99 @ Newegg) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case ($74.98 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($115.97 @ Newegg) Monitor: VIOTEK GN32DB 32.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor ($289.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $1430.25 Spend the remaining $70 on upping from 16GB RAM to 32GB, or adding an aftermarket cooler if you want. I'd grab a Be Quiet! Dark Rock(Pro) 4 if you're getting a cooler. You can swap the 5700XT for a vanilla RTX 2070 at the same price, but the 2070 is a little slower than a 5700XT. Up to you if you'd prefer RTX and DLSS 2.0 with the 2070 or better performance with the 5700XT at $400. Or, for $500, you can get the 2070 Super which is the best of both worlds- ~10% faster than 5700XT, plus RTX and DLSS 2.0 support. |
