So I get the idea it's a developers firmware, but I have read up online that it can cause some errors when playing extracted and backed up games?

Personally I like my Jailbroken console for some mods, some other cheats and of course the variety of games?

Would it be worth updating to DEX if so why?

If you want to mod for real, you usually need dex and RTM is only possible on there, although i really dont recommend RTM tools, as they are most likely going to steal your Cid or even xRegistry, which is really bad. You can mod games on cex too, but there are less awesome ones (and not that many) and you can use cex mods on dex anyways. DEX was originally thought for devs, who are developing their own homebrew, but very few people are still using it for that. cex is more the one thought for the enduser, who doesnt know all that much about cfw, because you can mess up your dex really bad if you dont know what you are doing. however that being said I run DEX have had no issues and works wonders

I've been modding on PS3 for years now around about 4 years I think if not more. I've been on CEX for 3 years just being comfort being on CEX. I then converted to DEX when I was modding at the time on PS3 I will never regret converting firmware from CEX to DEX. When you move to DEX you feel the firmware runs smoothly which is a weird feeling. I left the community as it's just dead and full of school kids asking you for mods.

You can do a lot with DEX like RTM Tool modding like doing GTA5 recovery for an example. You can use paid DEX menus are works like a charm and some other things you can do with DEX which works perfectly. These are just the basics n why you should move to DEX.

I no longer have a jb anymore but dex is the way to go

Absolutely. My Console has been on DEX since like 2013, so much more functionality.
