I've had my upgraded computer for a year of so now and, for the life of me, couldn't remember why I only had one of my hard drives plugged in..Now I remember.

If I plug an extra HDD into my MOBO, my computer will occasionally freeze for about 5-10 seconds before going back to normal. It also resets the DPI of my wireless mouse and I have to manually change it back in iCue or it doesn't recognize my DPI buttons.

The only reason I could think of the issue would be using an M.2 disables one of the sata ports, but it doesn't matter which port I plug my extra HDD into. It also doesn't matter which HDD is plugged in, if the new one is the only one plugged in I have no issues either so I can't think of it being a failing HDD.

Here is my current build: pcpartpicker.com/list/9WbjzY

I mentioned that in my post, though I couldn't remember which port is being disabled. I've only got 2 SATA cables plugged in right now and I've switched both of them to completely different ports.

Still having the freeze issue.

I know you said that it doesn't matter which drive you plug in but have you chkdsk both drives to make sure that they are actually good?

Also are you using the latest BIOS on your mobo? Latest drivers etc.?
