I grew up in deepish south (US) heat, and I found that I preferred the dry higher heat more than the muggy weather you tend to find in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, etc. I much preferred the 100 degree 0% Humidity Texas Summers to the 85 degree 80% Humidity Florida summers.

I don't despise the cold, my favorite time of year tends to be mid Autumn when it's crisp and cloudy, but I certainly wouldn't want to live any further north than where I am now (Midwest)
