I'm still just wondering why this isn't being talked about more. It seems to be so downplayed in the media. amiwrong? Maybe I'm just not watching enough news, idk.

If it spreads west to India then we are all screwed because their hygiene and poverty is terrible.

That is not a very good death to recovery rate

Some shitty KD thier haha.

I'm curious is the deaths, so far what I've seen it's only in older people they die, I take it cause they can't fightthe virus, idk it's kinda scary a little though. For you too take interest in this has me really thinking. Even if this is population control, the US will get a cure quick in my opinion the reason why I say that before I have anybody saying that the government wants us did no cure for cancer 202002 once Ebola hit the US it was dealt with quick! So their have been very few cases in the US but if numbers increase I do something this problem going away soon.

Acclaimed Harvard Scientist Is Arrested, Accused Of Lying About Ties To China
The Justice Department says Lieber, 60, lied about his contact with the Chinese program known as the Thousand Talents Plan, which the U.S. has previously flagged as a serious intelligence concern. He also is accused of lying about about a lucrative contract he signed with China's Wuhan University of Technology.

In an affidavit unsealed Tuesday, FBI Special Agent Robert Plumb said Lieber, who led a Harvard research group focusing on nanoscience, had established a research lab at the Wuhan university -- apparently unbeknownst to Harvard.

Zaosong Zheng, 30, was arrested last month at Boston's Logan International Airport and is charged with allegedly attempting to smuggle vials of biological materials and other research materials stolen from U.S labs.

That is not a very good death to recovery rate

I think it's important to note though that it can take 7-10 days to recover from a virus. We don't have anti-viral medication on the same scale as we have antibiotics so we can just treat the symptoms and keep people comfortable. Bacteria are easier to deal with since they are living organisms and viruses aren't, and so it's therefore up to our immune system to handle viruses. It takes about 1 week for your body to develop helper T-cells which are cells made to combat a specific pathogen. Once they are made, they bind themselves to the virus and/or infected cells and drag them to the lymph nodes for destruction. This is why normally a cold/flu/norovirus last for about a week before you're feeling better. So just because not many people have recovered, doesn't mean a vast majority won't. I don't know the rate of death of Wuhan virus, but I imagine most people who are going to die do so relatively quickly like with most diseases. Normally people who die from the flu don't have the flu for a week. They get the flu, it turns into pneumonia, and then they die all very quickly over a matter of days and sometimes even hours. I imagine it's a similar situation here, I bet people who have been infected by the virus for a week+ aren't going to die.

I'm very curious about how and if the virus can sequester inside the body. There are plenty of viruses that can do this, either by remaining in the synovial fluid or by hiding in nerve cells. Your body will purposefully avoid killing nerve cells since unlike other cells in your body they do not grow back, so viruses like herpes sequester in these cells and then become symptomatic and infectious during periods of immune suppression. That's why people get cold sores during stressful times or when sick with another disease since it reduces immune activity and gives the virus a chance to escape the nerve cells and try to spread. I'm hoping it's been thoroughly checked and I can't think of any respiratory virus that does in fact sequester, but who knows. That to me is really the only long term concern with this virus. If it can sequester, it'll be with us for the long run.

There are some cool trusted articles I've read stating the media is blowing it up to be something it's not

Apparently there's something they aren't telling us and they are blowing up as this plague that's crushing the whole world.

Now anyone who gets pneumonia will be labeled as Coronavirus
