Hello,
I hope someone can help. I Had a gaming PC built about 5 years ago and now I want to upgrade my rig. I have had a few people tell me to build a brad new PC and some people tell me I can just upgrade some parts. I'm very new to trying to build myself and money wise I think it would be cheaper to upgrade: Motherboard, cpu and the graphics card as I want to get back to playing at high graphics and maybe have a two monitor gaming hub. Does anyone one think this would be possible? Unfortunately for any components from the last few years, you will need to upgrade your motherboard and then upgrade the CPU and Memory.

Thanks. Yeah that is one of the parts I've been told I need to upgrade with CPU, Ram and graphics card but the rest should be okay from what I hear?
I can spend around £500 to £600 and I have a gift voucher for curry's(electronics store in the uk of £125 that I can add to that |

You will have a very hard job getting any parts from curry's they really only sell pre-builds now. someone else will end up putting together a nice PC for $600 without question but I doubt you will be able to get any of the parts they list out of curry's. |

What do you use your system for exactly? What games will you mostly play? What else, other than games?
What monitor(s) will you be using with the system? Can't really recommend a CPU+GPU upgrade without this information. As above, PCWorld/Currys is pretty terrible most of the time. That said, I've had a quick look and with your £125 voucher, you could get this; currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-acces...2-pdt.html currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-acces...7-pdt.html With this case+PSU upgrade, you'll be building an entirely new system, and just re-using your old storage. You could maybe look at adding another SSD instead of a case/PSU upgrade if you feel like more storage capacity is important to you. |

Sorry for the late reply the internet has been lacking for me as we've be changing providers.
I'd wanted to use it for gaming mainly and view media like youtube, Netflix and things like that. I like to play counter strike, diablo, battlefield, GTA, C.O.D, Fifa and in time would like to get into VR gaming. Thanks |

CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 - £107.00
Mobo - MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX - £96.99 RAM - 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz - £59.99 GPU - Zotac 6GB RTX 2060 - £272.98 Case - Cooler Master NR600 - £69.98 Total = £606.94 Phanteks Eclipse P400A would also be a good option for case, and a fiver less than the NR600 usually(or 5-10 quid more for the RGB P400A), but the P400A seems to be out of stock everywhere right now. So, the NR600 is a decent alternative. For GPU, an RX 5700 would be a decent boost in performance over an RTX 2060, but it's an extra 50 quid. I'd definitely try spend the extra, but I run a 1440p144Hz monitor- if you're running a 1080p60Hz monitor, an RTX 2060 is already more than adequate. In fact, if you're running 1080p60Hz, I'd probably just look at a GTX 1660 Super since you'll find those for around £200 easily. R5 2600, with a B450 Tomahawk and 16GB 3000/3200MHz is kind of a no brainer for CPU upgrade tbh, unless you wanna spend an extra 25 quid for an R7 2700 with 2 more cores/4 more threads; Ryzen 7 2700 |
