Do you think that you would be happiest living in a city or on a farm?

Most of my grandparents family grew up in North Dakota of a small town if like 100 and they lived on farms. IV been down there before and there's nothing to do.

I'd say I'm happier in the city.

Im sure its different for everyone but id say Happier in the city for sure as a kid or teenager even young adult id say the citys the place to be, i spent 4 years living in the country side from when i was around 6 to when i was 10 and it can be boring af outside of school your only friends were your brothers or sisters if you had any as anyone from school lived miles away and if you want a drink or sweet from a shop it was either a 1 or 2 mile walk, and the internet is bad i never had internet until i was around 11 but my auntie lives beside a farm an she has wack internent lol. But it wasnt so bad the houses are genrally 2 to 3 times bigger than city houses also dont think id be into gaming as much if i didnt live there and when in the country and you own a big feild its fun to drive dirtbikes and quads around.

Tho im sure people in thier 40s or 50s and up might be happier on a farm my dad said he loved the peace and quiet and he liked that there was a massive garage beside the house so he could work on rebuilding his boats or cars easily.

I'm a little mixed on it. I wouldn't want a farm, more like 4-5 acres of land would be pretty dope, that way I could set up a complete shooting range for myself and just not have to deal with neighbors. On the flip side, cities almost always have fast internet and things to do. In Russia I lived in both downtown urban cities and complete "country" with nothing anywhere -- literally where I was born at, countryside, school, small store and Russian Post, that was it outside of houses. Living inside of cities in very close proximity, oh I hate it. I have a natural loud voice so having to quite myself down is annoying, plus I have a very aggressive/violent temper when someone becomes an inconvenience or annoyance to me and have gotten into plenty of problems with neighbors in both apartments and even now when living in houses and they're like 20 feet away from me. Cities never bothered me in terms of noise, I can sleep through anything, grew up near train tracks, lived near airports and military bases and when I left my mother's house, I went to Denver Colorado and then to New York and had an apartment over on 48th w street, right in between the Hell's Kitchen (not the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, think it was a theater or musical place, something like that) and Time Square, so the noise there was something that a lot of people would normally be too much to handle.

I think if I lived in a place that was like 10 minutes from a major downtown city but also had a place that was as described at the very top, it would be the perfect little mix for me. Still within city range, benefiting from that stuff, but having farmland like property where I can be to myself and do my own things without anyone being a bother to me.

city living is where its at born and raised in the city, id be most happiest where theres a good neighborhood with neighbors, the country is horrible imo as it takes hours out of your day just to get into the city.

i love city living as i like being around people and have neighbors which in the country you rarely have anyone around, now having a country house to go to for a little camping i love that but i would never live in the country at all, especially if a person is chasing you and you have no one around to hear you.

being in the country theres nothing to do for kids and teens(which is why most most people from the country is murderers i said most not all)

if neighbors wasnt an issue and the country didnt take hours to get into the city and if it had amazing internet like the city id be happy in the country.

overall id say im happier in the city over country(unless my house in the city burns down/get tired of the city life)

but i will say a positive for the country nature cute wild life and feels to ride on and stuff like that mostly wild life is one of the two reasons id live in the country second being internet speed

As someone who has lived in both, I found the quality of life better in a more rural area. I grew up on 30 acres, with few horses so it wasn't exactly "country living" but I loved it.

I would trade for a small plot of land if I could
A) Find a job to support myself
B) Had good internet/phone reception.

I remember that my cousins house..You could only text/talk on the phone in a specific spot of their house unless you were outside. They had a dedicated chair, just for it. But they were really far from town. About 40 minutes, at least. The closer you got, the better the reception. That is the biggest downside, for me.

I grew up in a ruralish midwestern town, but for the last 4-5 years I've lived in a downtown area (800,000ish people). Each has it's pros and cons. I like living downtown because it basically puts me within walking distance of any commodity I'd need, and I can easily walk to work and avoid the headache of a rush hour commute. Larger metro areas definitely have a different demographic than the rural areas do, most people I run into are around 20-40 years old, and there's definitely more diversity than the rural towns around here. I like the different cultures and personalities I run into here. But I have noticed there's a lot more smug-seeming people here than in more rural areas, where it seems people tend to be more humble/kind. Stuff here also just costs more in general (A $4 bag of chips? Sorry that'll be $6 now because reasons ), rent is obviously going to cost more, as well as restaurants/entertainment get marked up as well. However I do enjoy the ease of access I have here to anything I really need compared to the rural areas.

tl;dr I prefer living in a metro area to a rural one, but they both have their goods and bads, and every once in a while I get tired of being in the city.
