Solid little system, I'm sure you'll love it. At least I hope you will lol.

Harmonaz wrote looks like I need a dp to hdmi cable. Don't have anything that handles displayport, and the Zotak has 1 hdmi and 3 dp. I'm sure one of the other variants would have had what I needed. Fortunately not an expensive mistake. In other news, GamersNexus put the 1660 Super as the best mid range card.

I'm not actually sure if the GTX 1660 Super has DP++ outputs or not, and I can't find the information anywhere. If it's not DP++, then you'll need to use an active converter for DP>HDMI. That cable you linked is passive, and will only work with DP++.
This should do the job if you need an active adapter;

Theres a table on this page - not exactly sure what it means, but under displayport version 1.4 (which appears to be what the Zotac has), its says Yes for DP++ so am I good or should I get that converter?

Yep, its getting worse lol...

amazon.co.uk/Samsung-50-inch-RU71...B07Q3WPJWB - samsung 50" £359

amazon.co.uk/TCL-43DP628-Smart-Fr...07GT9D8VX/ - TCL 43" £229

amazon.co.uk/Finlux-49-FUD-8020-U...B07NBZXPTT - Finlux 49" £300

I want a 4k display. I can't get over how even my phone running at 60Hz looks more smoother/fluent than my displays. I know its not related to resolution, but still, I'm sure something I get new should look much nicer than my old Toshiba 42". The ASUS monitor is still decent, so I'll replace the TV. Just found out that TVs don't have DisplayPorts, so I'm still going to have to use that cable and possibly that adapter for one of the displays...

Some of these cyber monday deals are quite decent (I think) I wouldn't mind getting one of these if they'll be nice additions to my new rig. Could you let me know what you think of those deals or anything else you would recommend?

Yeah, monitor/TV deals have been looking good to be fair. My dad just picked himself up a 32" 4k Samsung monitor for £215 from Currys/PCWorld. Think it was this one;
currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/pc-mo...1-pdt.html

That TCL TV for 230 also looks pretty decent, but I don't know too much about TV's myself tbh, so couldn't tell you if it's a good/bad choice. That said, I have seen a good few 40-43" 4k TV's under £250 with the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales so one of those should be a solid option.

Yeah, so if it says it has DP++, you should be fine. DP++ means you can use the passive adapter no problems. Just be aware that you could have issues with passive DP adapters if you don't have DP++ on the GTX 1660 Super.

Sorry I appreciate that TVs may not be the best thing to ask about here. Been checking out reviews for all the offers that seem good - and I'm getting confused again I'm creating an account on avforums as there appears to be a particular user who is quite active in answering questions and helping people. I'll let you know how that goes.

Received all my parts except the mobo lol. So far it looks like I got the 3700x and TUF at good prices as they're still fairly higher than what I paid. That 2700x had some great deals though lol. 3900x didn't budge

Quick questions which, again, may not be relevant to this forum:

I can't seem to find any particular reason not to partition my m2 drives for management reasons. Is it ok for me to partition them or should I just manage my directory structures better?

Software - For security on my current machine I use the built in Windows anti virus/firewall and Malwarebytes for security - what would you recommend as a good setup? Also browser - I was always a Firefox user but I don't know if its the latest update or just my machine dying, but its getting much slower... Only reason I haven't stuck with other browsers is that at least adblock on firefox works better than anything else I've found.

Been looking at various video editors... I think I'll just need to try them all lol. Though I dismissed DaVinci earlier, turns out it may give me the fastest render times for a free tool, even without the GPU acceleration. It'll be an interesting comparison as it appears that no one has compiled info like this yet.

It's no bother, I'm just personally not too clued up on TV's these days, I stick to monitors lol. If it were me, I'd be looking at 4k monitors under £300, so I'd say just look at TV's in the same price range. I have heard good things about Hisense and this looks a good deal to me;
currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-ent...lsrc=aw.ds
but yeah, you might want to double check with someone who's a little better with TV's than me lol.

You'll be happy with the 3700x, 2700x has been a good price but 3700x is just better. I'll be considering 3700x's in about 9 months as an upgrade from my 1700x probably lol, if I don't decide to just wait for next gen and upgrade motherboard at the same time.

Nope, I would recommend partitioning. Just partition your drives however suits you best. Makes more sense to partition, especially your OS.

I use Windows Defender and common sense tbh. Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, Adwcleaner and CCleaner are handy tools to have in case they become necessary, but you won't need to use them much I wouldn't imagine.

I haven't done much video editing in quite a while, but I'd probably stick with Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro tbh. Though, I wouldn't be paying for them..
No harm in trying different programs until you find the one that best suits you, though I would think whatever you're already used to is going to be the easiest to use.

To follow up on the previous post by 21; i'd stick to AE/PP simply due to their simplicity and wide range of open plugins and more. That's a major bonus. They also offer fairly good GPU acceleration in rendering. AE preview is a little more CPU intensive so you're covered there. PP will take use of GPU in preview and rendering.

You generally want to look for capability rather than speed with editing programs.

Could you recommend a few to potentially replace the 27" in case I decide not to get a tv? Given I'm not gaming I'm guessing there's no point in fast response times and really high refresh rates? If I stream movies at their highest settings I want them to look as good as possible. Bigger the better, but not too expensive

Mitochondria wrote You generally want to look for capability rather than speed with editing programs.
After checking out beginner tutorials for quite a few different editors, I've realized how basic my needs are. I won't be 'producing' but more like 'tidying up' all my footage. I'm going to wait until I build the rig and do some work before thinking about this too much - might turn out that my simple timelines will render super fast and it wont even matter which editor I'm using...

Ignore advertised response times anyway. As for refresh rate, I'd stick with 60Hz since a 4k144Hz monitor is gonna set you back £650+ and you're not really going to benefit from it IMO.

Couple of decent options for 27-32" 4k monitors in the £200-300 price range;
currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/pc-mo...1-pdt.html
overclockers.co.uk/philips-276e8v...2l-ph.html
amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LBQ3QCA?tag=pc...&psc=1

The Philips and LG monitors use IPS panels, whereas the Samsung is using a VA panel. Not sure when the Philips will be available, but it and the Samsung monitor are a steal at that price IMO.

Ok I'm going to check how things look on my existing displays and then decide whether its worth replacing any of them. In any case, that gpu can drive a third display right?
