Q. What is your budget and currency?
A. More about this below

Q, What will you use the PC for?
A. 144hz 1440p gaming. More info below.

Q, Do you need a monitor? If not, what monitor(s) will you be using?
A. No, more below.

Q, Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals?
A. No

Q, Do you need an operating system?
A. No

Q. Will you overclock?
A. No

Q, Anything else we should know?
A. A lot:

1) Use:

I play competitive games like LoL, CSGO, R6S etc. and casual games too. In case of demanding / new games I'm willing to lower the settings down to medium-high (if I have to).
I really want to keep the framerates high, consistency matters ( Don't want to keep my current lagspikes:( )

2) Monitor:

I'm planning on buying an " MSI Optix MAG271CQR " separately.
Any other monitor recommendations (144hz 1440p only)?

3) About budget and the rest:

- I will try to convert the prices from my currency to USD - rounded to 5s and 0s -
I'm going to buy all the parts from local stores, so consider that the prices here will be sometimes higher than in Amazon.

Budget: around 1600$
Would be nice to end up with a lower price (1400-1500$), but it's not that important since I want to keep the pc for a longer time.

I've picked some parts that I think could be optimal for me (for this budget and the performance I'm looking for), but I'm definitely not an expert.
For the parts I've picked, I'd like to ask for good alternatives if possible (meaning - same/better performance for lower/same price)

3A) Looking for alternatives for these:

GPU: GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB (530$)
( Don't know if I should go for the 2070 Super or not... )

CPU: I5 9600K (250$)
( Don't know if I should go for an AMD (Ryzen 5 3600) )

RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz (95$)

3B) Totally under consideration:
MOBO: ? (for up to 270$)
CPU COOLER: ? (for up to 100$)
SSD: ? (500GB for up to 100$)
HDD: ? (2TB for up to 100$)
PSU: ?
Case: ?

Thank you so much for anyone trying to help me out!

What are the specs of your current PC? Will be useful for us to know what you're upgrading for, and also handy to know in case you can re-use any components.

MrTspyn wrote 2) Monitor:

MAG271CQR is a brilliant monitor. However, if you were buying in the US, there are alternatives for a better price that would make more sense. It sounds like you're not in America though, so we'd need to know your budget in your currency to be able to recommend something really.

Give us your budget in your own currency please. Also maybe give us your location, especially if you're using Euros, so that we can recommend parts in your country, or at least close.

MrTspyn wrote GPU: GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB (530$)

Don't buy a 2060 Super. RX 5700XT should be priced similarly, and the 5700XT performs closer to a 2070 Super than 2060 Super. I'd be looking at an RX 5700, or 5700XT mostly. Maybe an RTX 2070 Super if you want to spend a lot extra for a little extra performance. The 5700/5700XT are much better value, but the 2070 Super is a pretty damn good GPU in fairness.

MrTspyn wrote CPU: I5 9600K (250$)

Definitely don't buy an i5. If you go Intel, buy an i7- either an 8700k or 9700k, whichever is available or priced better in your country. However, I would personally be getting an R5 3600(x) or R7 3700x.

Can recommend parts for the rest once we have your budget/currency and current PC specs.

I won't be re-using any parts from my current PC. I'll buy a brand new one.
But anyways it contains these:

MOBO: M5A97 LE R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: AMD R9 380 4GB
RAM: 2x4GB DDR3
SSD: 120GB (Corsair Force)
HDD: 2TB (Toshiba)
PSU: 600W
Using all this with a 1080p monitor @ 60hz.

I live in Hungary, no Euros - only HUF here.
My budget is: around 500,000HUF (and this is only for the PC, - monitor excluded - )

Goal again: Switching from 60hz 1080p to 144hz 1440p gaming, stable performance - cause I play some games very competitively -, and I won't play demanding games on ultra if I cannot, lowering some setting will not bother me

I'm worried about AMDs overheating or - not performing consistently good -, therefore dropping fps. As I said earlier I'm not an expert of hardware, so if you can, please affirm that AMDs are reliable and performing consistently well.
I had a moderately bad experience with my current setup, though I know it could be any other part not working well too.

My problem was: Basically some games would run okay while in others I would drop to 20fps for seconds. LoL, the one I play the most competitively, ran okay, but some events, - like an enemy casting a spell -, triggered my screen to be frozen for up to 2seconds or so, which is pretty annoying.

Also I saw a lot of positive comments on that i5-9600K. More details on - why should I get something else - ?

Thank you so much for your help!

Yeah, so AM3+ CPU's were really quite poor IMO. I'd have never recommended an FX CPU over a similarly priced Intel alternative. However, it's almost the exact opposite these days.
With an i5-9600k, you're limited to 6 cores and no hyperthreading, so if anything, it's going to be the one dropping FPS before an R5.
We can already see in some games that last generation 4 core i5's are being held back due to the lack of cores/threads, and it can also tank 0.1% and 1% low FPS which makes for a horrible gaming experience. Definitely not going to have an issue with a Ryzen CPU overheating, Intel CPU's are worse for thermals these days anyway.
If you really want to go Intel, go with an i7 so you don't only have 6C/6T with the i5.

So, here is what I'd be looking at;

https://i.gyazo.com/1d6eec2c9c49c6c40186b9fbd7d2d96e.png
from pcx.hu

I left 100k HUF for you to mess around with. That way you can add an HDD and/or aftermarket cooler if you want. Though, stock cooler with an R5 3600(x) or R7 3700x is perfectly sufficient tbh.
Also, I would just re-use the 2TB HDD from your current PC.

You could also potentially up the R5 3600 to an R7 3700x and/or get a higher end mobo with the remaining money. Asus X570 TUF would be a nice upgrade over the B450 Tomahawk, but it is around twice the price, and really not all that necessary- the Tomahawk is already perfectly fine.

Oh, sorry, and for monitors, here are a couple of decent options;
pcx.hu/acer-nitro-vg270upbmiipx-u...tor-491536
pcx.hu/samsung-c27hg70qqu-26-9-iv...tor-636887

Though is the MSI MAG271CQR is under 200k HUF, I'd probably be leaning towards that over these 2.

This is a really good alternative to the MAG271CQR;
pcx.hu/gigabyte-aorus-ad27qd-ek-monitor-680535
Just get whichever of the 2 is priced better really.

Or alternatively, you could get this;
pcx.hu/samsung-27-c27jg50qqu-monitor-208494
Still a nice 1440p144Hz monitor, but you sacrifice adaptive sync. This is however silly cheap for what you're getting. Got this monitor myself and I love it.

I really appreciate your help!
I think I'm going to stick to the MAG271CQR since it's cheaper than the others (except the last one you recommended), though I saw a lot of people saying deadpixels and ghosting issues are not so rare amongst these monitors.
Anyways, just a few more things I wanted to ask.

Firstly, shouldn't I go for the Kingston 3200mhz DDR4 16GB HyperX Fury instead of the Corsair Vengeance?
(Or the same 3200mhz DDR4 Hyperx but 2x8GB)

Secondly, would it be overkill to get 32GB?

Thirdly, the price of that almost full PC you suggested seems like a great deal,
(2070Super, Ryzen 3600(x), B450 Tomahawk etc.) but is there a huge downside to going for the cheaper CPU and motherboard or I should not be worried this much? (I'm always a bit paranoid : P sorry)
Also, about the "cheaper" mobos, isn't the MSI X470 Gaming Plus a better choice?
Thanks in advance!

I mean, I suppose there is always a risk of dead pixels when buying displays. It's never really an issue I've encountered. If you do buy any monitor and receive it with dead pixels, you could contact wherever you buy it from and ask them to replace it with another model. If they refuse, or the replacement still isn't to your liking, you should have like a 30 day window to return the item for a full refund anyway. MAG271CQR is a solid option, especially if it's cheaper than all the options I listed excluding the Samsung JG50. The MAG271CQR is a bit better than the JG50 anyway, and it does have Freesync which is definitely nice to have so if you're happy to spend a bit extra on the MSI monitor, go for it.

Grab the cheapest 2x8GB (or 2x16GB if you go with 32GB total) kit of 3200MHz you like the look of best.
With how much RAM pricing has come down, I wouldn't really say 32GB is "overkill". 16GB is the minimum I'd expect in any system worth its salt. 32GB is entirely necessary, but if you want it, go for it as long as you don't over-pay lol.

MrTspyn wrote Thirdly, the price of that almost full PC you suggested seems like a great deal,

Cheaper CPU than what? Cheaper than the i5? No, there is more likely to be "huge downsides" with the i5 and it's lack of threads IMO, as I said above. R5 3600 is definitely a better option. If you're not overclocking, maybe get the 3600x instead of the standard 3600 but only if the price difference is pretty minimal. If you wanted something higher end, you could maybe look at an 8C/16T R7 3700x, but the 3600(x) is a killer CPU for the price.

With more expensive motherboards, you'll typically get more features. So maybe more SATA ports or m.2 slots for storage, more/better I/O, RGB and/or fan headers, amongst other things.
The B450 Tomahawk already has most of the main features I'd expect in a modern system tbh, but it's far from the most feature packed motherboard. I think the X470 Gaming Plus loses features over the B450 Tomahawk and it might even have worse VRMs, though I'm not 100% sure. Regardless, the budget motherboards I'd be looking at are the B450 Tomahawk and B450 Gaming Pro Carbon. If you want something higher end, then the X570 TUF is a really solid motherboard.

pcx.hu/asus-tuf-x570-plus-gaming-...lap-509357
pcx.hu/asus-tuf-x570-plus-wifi-ga...lap-343263
Wi-Fi variant isn't much more expensive than the non Wi-Fi, up to you if you think that's a feature handy enough to warrant the extra cost. Or, if you don't care about Wi-Fi and don't like how the X570 TUF looks, this is a pretty decent price for the Prime X570;
pcx.hu/asus-prime-x570-pro-alaplap-671325
This has the exact same VRM set-up as the TUF, but some extra features like RGB header and an extra USB. I'd still go with the TUF though, personally.

I've only looked on pcx.hu, so you may want to check other stores/sites to see if they have any better prices. Also, I'm not sure how Black Friday deals are in your country, but it might be worth keeping your eye open for deals next weekend, especially on CPU+Mobo.

Kind of a final check.

Thinking of this:

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 3X
[Minimum post requirement for links]

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
[Minimum post requirement for links]

MOBO: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE
[Minimum post requirement for links]

RAM: Corsair 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz Vengeance LPX Black
[Minimum post requirement for links]

SSD: Samsung 1TB 860 QVO
[Minimum post requirement for links]

HDD: Seagate 2TB BarraCuda 256MB ST2000DM008
[Minimum post requirement for links]

PSU: be quiet! BN298 Pure Power 11 600W 80+ Gold
[Minimum post requirement for links]

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400 Tempered Glass (PH-EC416PTG) (Black)
[Minimum post requirement for links]

Price: around 480 000 HUF
(And gonna stick to the MAG271CQR = +135 000 HUF)
Overall opinion on this rig?

Geth the XF70 TUF instead. Better motherboard for the same price.

I don't think this is worth the 8000HUF extra over a 3000MHz kit, but up to you.

MrTspyn wrote PSU: be quiet! BN298 Pure Power 11 600W 80+ Gold
pcx.hu/be-quiet-bn298-pure-power-...seg-103993

This PSU is fine, but it's only semi-modular. The Cooler Master unit I recommended is cheaper, and fully modular. These are two other units I'd be looking at before the Be Quiet! PSU;

If you can see a Phanteks P400A anywhere for a similar price, I'd get that instead. Ventilation in the front panel for improved airflow, but I couldn't see any P400A's for sale on pcx.hu, so it might just be a case of there not being any stock in your country. In which case, the standard P400(S) is a fine choice if that's what you like the look of. Although I think black with white interior is nicer than black on black;
