I need the community help on this one. I have searched on youtube about this but they say "OBS settings I already know or have".

I'm using Streamlabs OBS to stream atm. Currently streaming on YouTube and I know you have to have two different bitrates for YouTube and Twitch, right?

The question is that if my internet speeds is 18.08 what should i set my bitrate be? I've heard all sorts of answers but theres no solid answer I've come across.

My current bitrate is; 2500
Please help me if your solution works. I'll rep you for helping me out. That's the least I can do.

Edit: Will 4500 bitrate work for streaming on YouTube or not? If so I'll change my bitrate to that.

whats your upload speed because you want to limit your bitrate by 1k to your upload as you need to have a good upload speed of at least 10 for 10k bitrate(logical bit rate for 10up would be 9k imo.

and is that 18.08 download or upload? cant really help you without knowing both speeds you have

i personally use 6k @60fps with above normal priority in obs and high priority in games via setting it in task manager with gpu encoding(which is better because your cpu doesnt work as much unless you playing a game

One... What?

1.) Who is your ISP?
2.) How is your internet speed 18.08?
3.) How are you getting your information to your internet speed?
4.) Do you understand your download speed is not your upload speed?
5.) What is your download/upload speed?
6.) Ookla Internet Speed Test
7.) Post the results here.
8.) Upload speed is the only speed that matters for streaming.
9.) It'd be recommended you have 100mb download (as just about every company in the states is 100% download and 10% upload) that way you have 10mb upload which is perfectly fine for streaming and gives you some room for 720 and 1080 streaming though 60fps will be pushing it at 1080p.
9.) For streaming in 720p@30 you would only need 500kb - 2.5mb to stream.
9.1) For streaming in 720p@60fps you need about 700kb - 3mb to stream.
9.2) For streaming in 1080p@30fps you need about 2mb - 5mb to stream.
9.3) For streaming in 1080p@60fps you need about 2mb - 9mb to stream.
10.) Post your PC specs here. CPU, Motherboard, Graphics Card (GPU), RAM speed, RAM capacity.
11.) Keep in mind Mixer, Twitch, and YouTube have transcode limitations.
12.) Just because you can stream it, doesn't mean people can see it.

Not only is streaming related to your internet speed but does have it's own dependency on your hardware. You could be experiencing bottlenecking or some serious adjustments needing to be made. Contrary to belief having a ton of graphics and transitions and stuff like that can and does make OBS, Streamlabs, Streamelements, etc. all tax a PC if done improperly. Be aware of that. Start from a skeleton and work your way up.

Keep in mind of what resolution and quality you're trying to stream in as well. Just because you're streaming in 720p@60fps doesn't mean it'll take a maximum of 3mb to stream that if you're playing the game in 4K on Ultra and trying to stream lossless quality.. The difference in just quality setting can be major. A good example, me trying to stream in 1440p@60 fps takes 35mb - 50mb in lossless quality, but if I stream in 1080p@60 fps it takes 3mb - 12mb to stream lossless quality.

I was once an idiot who cared about quality to an extreme. Streaming in 1440p@60fps. Only to finally be told "Hey I can't watch your stream because my internet is trash." Just because you can stream it doesn't mean you should or that other people will be able to watch it. There's a reason podcasts on youtube aren't streamed in 1440p or 4K still. Transcode limitations are a pain, even worse is scaling that live to meet people who can't otherwise handle a 20mb upload to their internet or phone. It's just the reality. Hence why you see so many people streaming in lower qualities and the big names at 1080p@60fps CAN be viewed with total ease, because of the transcode options they have as they're affiliated or partnered status allows those options.
