My opinion on this is very biased from how my grandfather raised me.

I believe without a doubt a person must go through hardships in life, no matter the physical or emotional impact it may leave. I grew up in that weird generation where it was some people were very old school and some people very "new school." From my view and experience I see that there's too many limp wrists in the world, people who you can tell have just been coasting along for a cruise and some that obviously never had their ass spanked as a child and think they're untouchable. This outlook has made me seem very heartless and cold to others, especially when people are mourning and that's not me making fun of them or calling them weak or whatever, it's simply me just stating the fact that said person is going to have to grow from it and eventually get over it. Everyone learns from their mistakes, everyone learns from trial and error, everyone learns what their body and mind are able to take and I personally feel it's their job to experience something that challenges that and forces them to improve on it and come out a stronger person.

Some hardships can for some people, sure. Sometimes, they "damage" people. They can also sometimes kill people. Or, sometimes people hurt or kill others because of them. Everyone takes situations differently. Sure, hardships in life are pretty inevitable for the average person, but I'm not a fan of realizing that and then just accepting that everyone has to go through it.

Enough pressure will create a diamond, or dust.

In the long run if you survive a hardship you do come out a stronger person. At least through my experience.
