The issue I see with people and this game is they are being very very judgmental without giving the game a chance. I see a lot of "Nah, plays like BF, hate it" and vice versa tbh.

The Beta was an eye-opener for me. It showed me what IW can actually do. Using the title of Modern Warfare I don't think is a bad thing. It was never going to be a COD4 replacement but I think the beta has done well to be a step up from it. Incorporating all the things from MW, MW2 & 3, the game is actually very well balanced and kitted out. With twists such as the ground war game mode, we see a new side of COD and one that isn't following the BR trend of 2018.

Sure there are issues atm like certain weapons are god awful and some of the maps need a re-design asap but I mean, a beta is to test the waters and fix what needs to be fixed. They now have a month to get things right before launch so Im expecting a fair amount of change.

The movement was on point IMO. There's not one time that I thought, Ah, if only my player moved a bit quicker. The fact that you can slide through doors is an absolute masterpiece of gameplay and adds a bit of extra spice. Only main downside about the movement so far is that there are some rocks/buildings/ledges that you should just climb up and you can't. That's annoying.

Stock maps are the same 3 lane design which should appeal to most old school and new school players with added elevation so you're not just looking in front of you but above and below. Again, the only issue I've found is the dark spots in caves and some buildings are too dark and the lighting needs to be adjusted.

As a COD player for well over 12 years, this beta has got my attention again simular to how WW2 got my attention. They have a solid base to work with and I just hope they carry on with the direction they are heading.

Ive been playing the Beta on PC since Saturday and Its been really fun for me and Its gonna make me buy the game the last Cod I played was Black Ops 3 on Console and Thats when I stopped enjoying COD.They really needed to be Innovative If they had any chance of getting the trust back in the players again for the most part there hasnt been anything ive really disliked apart from driving it feels a bit wonky for me.I feel like Jumping could use a bit of a tweak as well but its not the worst imo.Its also a beta so Alot will change from now til release the beta is just to get feedback from the players about it.I do agree about the campers part I dont get how its fun to just sit in a corner of a building for a whole ground war game like how can anyone find that fun if anything campers are liability because they arent going to the Objs so you might as well be short a teammate.

Two detailed replies and very valid points.

I agree with some points but disagree on movement due to me being a player that rushed consistently and I'm a HQ players and can't seem to see how this game will cater to me due to the camping on it.

Forgot to say But I agree 100% with adam on the shadows and lighting overrall there was sometimes where I would die and it felt like the enemies blended into the shadows or something like some places are wayy too dark.

I do agree completely, but I feel like it caters to them in a very odd way.

The maps in my opinion suck, there are way to many lines of sight in any given location, too many doorways/windows/alleys/obstructions and it makes the maps feel crowded. Moving makes you constantly turn blind corners where enemies can be waiting in any number of locations.

This is why I think the game has pushed a weird camping meta, because normally in a balanced map there are expected bottlenecks where players are forced through that one would expect a camper. Since we all play(ed) Modern Warfare 2, I always think of the tunnel on Sub Base, the plane tunnel on Terminal, the bridges on Rundown or the bunker in Wasteland (among many others) where players were forced to travel through these areas in order to easily move to different parts of the map. It was then expected running through those areas to be cautious of campers/claymores and play it extremely safe. No one was casually running through the Wasteland bunker not expecting to get lit up from a camper waiting just outside on the other side. Aside from these one or two bottlenecks, you could pretty much run around and expect head-to-head engagements with other players who were also just running around.

Modern Warfare though has so many places to move through, and so many lines of sight, that it's impossible to expect where or when someone is going to be camping. There are no real bottlenecks to camp in, so instead players are just arbitrarily laying down or crouching in a random window and waiting for players they hope are going to come. This in turn creates paranoia and then everyone only feels safe when they camp. Combine this with the extremely fast time to kill and you have a really weird meta of players too nervous to freely run around and instead need to camp or place claymores in random locations in order to get kills.

Couldn't describe it better myself great explanation this is exactly how I feel.

OP: I do enjoy the game it just needs a bit of improvement.

The entire gameplay feels way too much like battlefield and not like cod which is why im not enjoying it but thats not why i dislike it these campers i half the time just want to **** do that just to get a kill because these maps arent all that 3 laned shit its a LOT of up and down and buildings to hide in and sneak through and camp in these high ground low ground window peeking head glitching situations happen all too often and i hate that i dont like the map designs. then there's these ultra try hard players that jump around every corner with a **** max sensitivity and hit every shot meanwhile im on a **** 4 sens when i used to play at 8 with control and im still trying to figure out what **** aim assist im supposed to use like did y'all notice there's 3 different types and a disabled option?? and then i saw these perks that do extra damage and can regen your health fast as **** and more with each kill and it just seems so unbalanced. i enjoy the game for all of its sounds its beauty and its feel but i just am not gonna enjoy the multiplayer and just gonna get this game for campaign. to me it doesnt feel like a call of duty game its cod evolving into battlefield (and we all know how bad games get when they start tryna be different ones) *cough halo 4* *cough battlefield 1*

edit: not gonna lie the ground war mode was really well done honestly a master piece i didnt know what was going on and yet so many things were going on enemies and friendlies all around and the vehicles and nothing was lagging honestly **** stellar
